Searching graveyards became a passion after I started tracing my husbands family tree. I have a great love for the Greenbrier Valley area in West Virginia and have adopted the church graveyard of Neal Chapel. My husbands grandparents attended there for many years as did several other family members.
It is amazing what can be found and discovered if one takes the time to look. After DNA test on Ancestry.com I have discovered so much about myself. I imagine one day God will look in His book and call the names of who begat who and I will smile recognizing the many whom I have discovered in this journey.
Mary Prosser Page Mem# 133924840 Teresa: I got the information from the State Historical Society of Iowa website. We live in St. Louis, and we have many ancestors in Iowa. I am currently doing research for a cousin who is related to Mary's husband Homer Page's second wife Sarah (Sadie) Reynolds who was married first to Abe Mundell. They had a daughter named Mabel Mundell who was married to Earl Arnold. Earl is the uncle of my cousin.
One time on a trip to Des Moines, we were at the State Historical Society of Iowa building and they told me about Death Certificates that were being indexed online from 1917 to 1938. It is by county and every county is different in the Death Certificates years that are indexed. They only indexed the ones that were never microfilmed. Apparently they have the original Death Certificates from each county. I will try to paste the links to the website and also the "results" pdf that I got back on my search of Linn county. As info, you can request a copy by sending them the info on the entry line, which includes the certificate number and box number it is in. I think by mail it is $7.50, if you on in their office it is 25 cents. I am going to see this cousin next week and give him a list of Death Certificates I want him to get in Des Moines (he lives near there). I will add your g grandmother to the list and email you a copy when he sends them to me. The website for the county Death Certificates is: http://www.iowahistory.org/archives/holdings/state-archives/birth-death-marriage.html The results page for Linn county is: http://www.iowahistory.org/archives/holdings/state-archives/death-certificates/assets/linn-county.pdf
Hope this helps. my email as info is firstname.lastname@example.org
Also, do you have any info about your great grandfather Homer Page's step children from his second marriage to Sarah (Reynolds) Mundell? Sarah had a daughter names Mabel that was married to Earl Arnold. They lived in San Diego county California and both died in 1985. Earl is only brother out of a family of 11 that I don't know where he and his wife are buried. Would you happen to have any info?? Thanks, John

Just a long shot- do you know anything about her parents? I have an Aaron Taylor GREGORY b. Abt 1857 (Find A Grave Memorial 107334485)who married Mary Elizabeth BROWN. Aaron died when only 26, so I don't think they were married long, and perhaps only had one or two children (depending how young they married). I was wondering if she could possibly be a granddaughter?
Aaron GREGORY's wife is a descendant of Ulrich RENZ III and his wife Anna MOEGENHARDT as I am. I am in Australia- many branches of the RENZ family emigrated to both the U.S. and Australia.
Cora Holliday Could you add her parents, William Honaker 93423761 her mother Melvina Boone Honaker 93423811 She is my grandmothers sister. Emma Weikle which is also buried in this same graveyard. Thank you.
I'm finding your name a lot while looking up my Morgan/Massie family here in Greenbrier County. I was living in Pennsylvania and started doing grave requests there, but I recently moved back to Greenbrier County. I'm interested in "digging up" a graveyard on our property here near Lewisburg. It's the Levisay cemetery and if you are interested, I would be happy to include you when I unearth the headstones that have become buried over the years if you are interested.
