Hi Carolyn,
I came across another Hale stone in St. Mary's - same section as your family. I wondered if they were related? - John W. & Genevieve D. Hale (Find A Grave Memorial# 109504283 & 109504378). I was actually looking for the Crosses you asked about, but I couldn't seem to get my bearings so I could find them. It was such a nice day, I think maybe Moey took his stone for a little walk. I'll try again. If the Hales I mentioned are yours, I'd be happy to transfer them.

Gee, I guess the obvious reply would be there are 1000s of Crosses in St. Mary's. :)
But seriously, I don't recall seeing the family you asked about but I would be happy to go look once the weather improves. As I recall, the Hale monument was on a north facing slope so it will retain the snow for a while.
Chuckled at your story about your Mom. I'm sure she was full of grace.
Please remind me to go look for the Cross family in late March.
