Wright Kersey
We went to Eden Cemetery today & found two possible relatives of Wright Kersey but there is no marker for Wright. It is a very small cemetery so was easy to check all headstones. We have two possible relatives with the names of Walter J. Kersey, Henry & Sudie Kersey. There is an open space between these two markers and it may be that Wright is buried there. If they are relatives, set up a memorial page and we will post the pictures. Linda Butterfield

Have you had an opportunity to check on this? I'm so curious about my family buried there. Again, my thanks for your help. You have been most kind.

RE: Kerseys in Bradford/Georgia
Jessy, I am sure it is GM's father because Thomas Wright Kersey was my grandfather and Wright was his grandfather. He is buried in the kersey plot in Brunswick were his first wife, my grandmother Mamie and his second wife Janie Sapp are buried, Thomas Wright was killed in 1933 coming to Florida to meet my Dad. We have been unable to find a maiden name for Wright's wife Mary, some think it was parker but we have found no documents to support it, only the birth and death dates match for her. Good luck, Donna

Thank you for trying to find the 4 gravestones I requested. I believe they are there due to the book I named; however, they may not have tombstones or the markers may be lost in time. Another Find A Grave volunteer is trying to obtain a copy of a survey of the cemetery, if there is one! I appreciate your time and efforts to assist me.
Best regards, Ann, a Jacksonville, FL native!

RE: Kerseys in Bradford/Georgia
HI Jessy, glad to meet a new relative. His father was Wright, his mother was mary, we do have her maiden name.Wright was born in 1805 in Emanuel,Georgia and died 1890 in Georgia.I have an 1850 Census, he was 44 and Mary was 39. I have a picture of General Morgan and his second wife Darcus. If you do not have one I will be glad to send you a copy. I am on ancestry.com with the kersey tree, DKelley, if you belong to ancestry, check out the tree it is a public one. Keep in touch, it was nice to meet you. Donna

RE: Thomas Wright Kersey
Jessy,
You're welcome. I can't remember if there was another marker "cheek to jowl" with Thomas Kersey, but I'll look more closely next time I pass the cemetery. However, there were more Kersey markers in the same plot plus Joseph Sapp and Pearl Sapp. The other Kersey markers are for Janie, Mildred, Robert, Sarah and Thomas. I posted photos of all except Joseph Sapp since someone had already posted a photo of his marker. Cemetery records show Mamie Kersey and Donald Weaver buried there also but there are no markers.
