Margaret Melton Smart
A Curiosity; Do you have any info on Margaret Melton Smart in the Green Cemetery, b. 29 Dec 1818 d. 25 Mar 1867? #38223354 shows Margaret Melton Smart b. 29 Dec 1828 d. 25 Mar 1867 buried Davis / Melton Cemetery. She wed cousins William Ricey and Reuben Smart. The dates make me curious.

RE: Margaret Smart
I still have not had a chance to call the Bostic City Hall to ask about the cemetery, but will try to do that this week. I know about the Broad River Genealogical Society, was once a member, and have been there to do research. I will try to go there for you and will let you know what I find. I could copy items in their records, scan them at home and email them to you or put on the website. Emily

William Ricey Smarts' first wife (1838) was Deida Burns, bondsman Drury Burns. Any idea as to these two Burns'es???

Deadman Cemetery
Hi Marci,
As far as I know (and I've been checking the library list) there is not a Deadman cemetery. There is one on Deadmon RD though. It's called Turrentine Baptist Church. Could this be the one you're looking for?

These are all the headstones in the cemetery. Many are very old but this was it. There are areas where a stone must have been but it is gone. On my next trip home I will go back and photograph the areas where stones used to be..

moss hill cemetery
I have a list of all transcribed cemeteries in Duplin County. Moss Hill is not listed. If you can give me explicit directions, I might be able to find the cemetery.
I did look up Moss Hill in Map Quest, and the only one is located near Kinston in Lenoir County.
I am waiting for information.
Thanks, Arnold Caison at
