Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am so very lucky to have my family, I could not have made it without their love and support. I truly do not know what I would have done without them. I am a true pet-lover-- have a mare with about 12 personalities, and a cat. I used to have a lot more pets, but the horse takes up quite a bit of my time. I adore her, but it is very challenging when she gets in one of her 12 or so moods and I am not prepared..:-) Otherwise, I love her, she helps me live and gives me such joy! Nothing better than an Autumn trail ride, it brings me so close to God!

I consider myself a younger lady in her 50's, but do miss not having children and grandchildren, so I guess I will continue to spoil everyone else's! My son passed away in 2001 and we think of him every day....

Mary Francis Baker Kushmaul
Hi Karen,

I am the great grand niece of Mary Francis Baker Kushmaul and have been extensively researching her family. George Harrison Kushmaul is her son.

My mother, uncle and I have all done DNA tests with Ancestry.com and have an extensive tree posted there.

Perhaps you can talk to some of your family members and get them to do a DNA test to see about your lineage. So far I only know that Mary's father, Herman / Henry M Baker was born in New York. He married Mary's mother, Barbara A Lashey (sp?) and they resided in Brush, VA, Rockingham County. (This town is now in WV.)

If you look at my Miller Baker Family Tree you will see the documents, data and stories about William Franklin Baker, Mary's brother. I have family records to backup my data regarding them and you would be able to copy / download what I have assembled.

Anyhow, I am really hoping to get more descendants of the Baker clan and thought you might have a connection with them and be able to arrange that. The test is very affordable, $99, and it links you to DNA matches and tells about where the people's DNA came from. I think that Mary's father and or Mother had blood lines from Greece & Italy, western Europe, the Caucaus and Iberian Peninsula.

I would love to find a picture of Mary Francis Baker Kushmaul. Somewhere some one had posted one of William so I have that and photos of George Harrison Kushmaul.

Anything that you can forward my way would be wonderful. Thanks a bunch for listening.

RE: Our x grt. grandpa
Hello! My ancestor from Johann Martin was his son Joseph (while yours is Jonathan). Therefore, we are quite distantly related!

Hi Friend
You are very welcome , I am glad to be able to put flowers on inerments and am glad you brought your sons to my mind again as I have so many that I need to keep putting flowers on .
Altho the other day I got a message from a member who told me to take off the flowers I had put on her ancestors interments because she said she just wanted to have just her family do that . You can emagine how I felt then .
Well I wont get into detail of what I wrote back to her but I did tell her that I would apoligize to her famly when I see them in the here after, when it is my time to go, that I tried on their behalf in remembering them but their decendant said no dont put flowers there , that person took what I wrote off her message area what I said , so her live family couldnt see it , I wasnt nasty to her but I am sure it made her ashamed of herself.

I read about you saying you ride a horse , I always loved to be able to ride a horse but the first time I got on one I was in my teens and I didnt actually know how to steer one lol and I rode into a tree and fell off. I was ok but never wanted to ride one again . So I will just admire them from a distance .
Have a good rest of the week friend.

Hi Cous Karen!
Fancy meeting on a place like this LOL I do remember when we first met, through the Kuss/Kush/Kuszmaul researching. We started talking and 'hit it off' and have been friends ever since. Yes, it does seem like we're more than distant cousins!, Your sweet and wouldn't want it any other way. It's been a long time ago now(mid 90's), where does the time fly off to!?

I am glad you like the flowers for Troy. I done my best to find the prettiest ones I could, for a special son and mother.

Love ya dear, sweet cousin of mine

Troy Simpson
My husband is buried in ferncliff and actually Troy was one of the easier ones to find and is 2 plots down from a dear friend's parents.

Each Sunday after church a friend & I attempt to locate markers for people who have requested them in numerous cemetaries in the area.

I'm so glad I was able to help you.
