RE: William Allison
Hello JAB,

I have access to the complete Hebron Church records and am currently doing an inventory of the entire cemetery for the church.

I cannot find any record of William Allison nor any marker in the old section of the cemetery. The only Allisons in the cemetery are Sarah Allison ( b. ? - d. Nov. 1831) and Frances Allison (b. ? - d. Nov. 1832. Both are in the C-5 section of the old cemetery.

I've also cross-referenced with the USGenWeb list and do not find William there either.

Please keep in mind that the church lost all of their records in the early 60's in a fire and a reconstruction of the files were done in 1967. If no grave marker existed in 1967, there will be no record. That is not to say the grave does not exist in Hebron, just that there is no record since the 1967 inventory was based on existing markers.

If you have any other information, like a plot or section number, I'll be happy to research it further.

RE: Leonard Sessions and Esther Abbe Sessions
Thanks for the correction, Have added pictures to your memorials. Will delete mine in Marathon cemetery. To add a little mystery to the plot, some of the Sessions have stones in Bemis Cemetery, Broome Co. NY. Or it's called Tarble Sessions Cemetery in Cortland Co., NY. I think the Monument in Marathon is a Cenotaph for the Sessions' parents, because there are no individual stones there, and Marathon's first burials were in 1862, Larry

I interrupted a meeting at the church this afternoon and got lots of help finding a headstone for John. There isn't one (yet). His family may have plans to provide one. I'll report this as a problem and leave your request open. Have more information if you're interested; too much to detail here. Contact me at dabev@rivnet.net.

Thanks for the correction, Bemis cemetery is about 3 miles away. The names on the stone in Marathon were probably a record of them, and their actual resting place is in Bemis cemetery, because this is where their head stones are, and this cemetery has not been moved. Marathon cemetery's first burial was 1862, and I have found several main family markers that have recorded names that are buried elsewhere. There were at least several other cemetery's in or near Marathon out of which remains, and, or headstones, were moved to Marathon and placed with main stone of family. This seems to have been a common occurance, more than I thought. In answer to the other question, as of yet I am not related. Larry

Do you have an obituary for this death memorial that currently cites no burial location? My father, still living, is related. Please use the private message feature at my profile.

We are friends with the family so when her stone gets set I'll retake the picture and update it.

Rick and Donna Burns,
I wanted to share with you that when I told Kathy about your memorials, she was very appreciative. It's really raw right now, but it brought a bit of smile to her face knowing they had been remembered.

Thank you ever so much.
