Bio and Links
Bio Photo My family history endeavors began in 1971 as a high school class project. Since then, I've had the good fortune to meet a few people who shared their training and experiences leading me to resources that enabled me to rapidly progress in this journey.

I consider it a privilege and responsibility to future descendants to document as much of our history as possible, including where our ancestors are buried. I have found few things in life so satisfying! Come join us. Always looking for those interested in the Viers, Cundiff, Croan, Dawson, Lee, French, Fox, Scroggins, Givan, Perry and Collins families, among others!

Nathan Veirs and Dorcas Dyson
Hi Charles Viers,
I found a source for these and am sharing it for future researchers: "Fort Knox Cemeteries in Bullitt, Hardin, and Meade Counties, Kentucky, with historical and genealogical notations", page 133. (Sketches by Glenda Schultheis). Author: Sam McDowell, Route 1, Richland, Indiana 47634, 1975.

Charles, thanks for creating these memorials.

Hi Charles Veirs,

Re Nathan Veirs and Dorcas Dyson, his wife, is a picture of a gravestone possible? I am having trouble confirming birth and death dates. Is there any other source you know of? Many thanks,

Going over family history
I just found this site and I actually have an old picture of Rebecca Lee. I am told she is my 6x Great Grandmother. I was also told that she was full blood Cherokee? Does anyone else know any of this information?

I too have a connection to the Dawson name. Grandfather on my mother's side.

Wonder if we can connect him past his father?

I think maybe a relative of yours (brother-in-law to memorial 7im.6668810) sent me a message via the edit button. Unfortunately e-mails to the address he gave bounce. If there's a way you can pass it along, my email address is barrettr @ kvnet . org

I would really love to hear from him. The contributor id of who sent the message is 47937738.

MD to KY 2013 Reunion
After visiting Pitts Point Catholic Cemetery on Memorial Day, 2012, I did research about the Wise family coming from MD to KY because they were persecuted. I found out that there have been many Reunions either in MD or KY. Where they settled is called the Holy Lands of KY. I have been working on our next reunion.
PLEASE SAVE THE DATE:7/12, 7/13, 7/14, 2013

Birth of Minnie Rean Viers Croan
Close up of the tombstone shows her birth year to be 1908 and not 1918.

A simple typo.

I have fixed it in my tree, but you might want to edit it so others will not have the same challenge.

Thanks for all you do, and let me know if you need any graves recorded in the Raleigh, Wake, North Carolina area.

Pitts Point Catholic Cemetery/2012
Dear Charles,
My friend, Belle and I visited Pitts Point Catholic Cemetery on Memorial Day, 2012. My car would not make it so Ranger Jim came to our rescue. He told us that you and your wife came every year and that you were the Dr. that did a transplant. He said heart but it must have been "hand". I took pictures of the Viers grave.
We found the Wise family. My mother,Dorothy Wise Oldham's grandparents, W.H. Wise and E. Katherine French Wise was buried there along with many other Wise's. Thank you for the picture.
I hope to have WKYU TV (PBS) Bowling Green, Ky do a story there next Memorial day so perhaps you can help provide information.
My email address is

May God bless you,
