I began researching my family history on the internet in 2007. Putting together this zillion piece puzzle of my family has been more fun and challenging than I could have imagined. I could not have done it without the hard work of everyone out there working on the same giant puzzle! My family names include, Garth, Dixon, Dion, Longdeau, Mahrt, and for in-laws, Bisett, Lennox, Riquelmy, and Broussard.

I live in the Texas Hill Country in the Blanco - New Braunfels - San Marcos area, between Austin & San Antonio.

Thanks for attempting to find George. Makes me sad that a veteran wasn't honored with a stone, but it is what it is. I removed the request and put a note on the site noting the fact the the US Government appears to have acknowledged it, but noted that there appears to be no marker. Thanks again. May you be blessed for blessing others. I really do appreciate all the effort that you went through to find the stone.

Robert Dixon
Catharine's Brother
Hi Terri,

Cathartine's brother, Thomas Dixon, was my great, great grandfather. He died Oct. 25, 1872, in Pike County. Catharine's family bible may have been the source of this information.

As you can see, Find A Grave does not have him. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can find his grave ?

RE: Bissett
I also added photos to other Bissett(Bisett) memorials. Hard to keep them all straight. They are beautiful markers. Sometimes people in a cemetery won't come up in a name search but are listed under "all" interments. Anyway, Glad I could help. Be well.

RE: Thomas Burney
By the way, his marker is one side of the nearer marker in the picture I posted. The other names are: 'Our grandmother Frances Shields'; 'our mother Julia Burney'; and 'our sister Julia S Burney'. I think if you look for these names at Find A Grave in the same cemetery, you'll find someone already posted pictures.

You are very welcome. I also took one of Fannie E. Sorry, if they were not the best shots-I didn't take any polarizers with me today.

RE: Dion, Mother & Son
You're very welcome. If the headstone photos look a little askew, it's because the sun was so bright bouncing off the headstone, I had to stand at a strange angle in order to cut the glare and get a shot that was readable.
