Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been running through grave yards since I was young. My older cousins thought it would be fun to lose me in one at nite that was over 150 yrs old, a church my ex-uncle preached at. Needless to say I'm still "running through" them, but now it's more like, "surfin online" or "a real walk w/my camera and/or my "other camera" that I 'sometime use' to make phone calls" to take pics of anyone having any of my family names "just in case" they belong.

~~ I AM NOT IN IT FOR THE NUMBERS!!!! I DO IT BECAUSE "It's FAMILY"!!! ~~ (maybe not mine but someone else's.) *~*~Also, if I have done someone who is your family member I'll transfer them to you. As long as they aren't my family member also. Just ask.~*~*
ps: it's good to meet "distant cousins"!! :) let me know how you figure in our "Tangled Roots & Extended Branches"!

**If is wasn't for any of you I would NEVER have been. THANK YOU***
Still runnin thru, catch me if you can. LOL ;)
Later~

***PLEASE DO NOT TAKE the HEADSTONES or ANY PHOTO THAT ARE MINE and put them on the same DOUBLE THAT APPEARS OR ON OTHER SITES!! I KNOW THAT THIS IS BEING DONE, as of OCT 2010*** It really is STEALING & it's shameful that I have read this on others "BIO's" too.****(or at lest be KIND enough to give me credit of some sort)****

As of JAN 2012 I became a member of "Burke County Geneaolgy Society", can't wait to find out what this holds...wish me luck!

If I have made ANY MISTAKES (which I'm 'sure' I have) PLEASE "BE KIND" & let me know on the "EDIT TAB" & I'll fix it. THANK YOU!! >>>>>** 01 JUN 2012~ As of late APR-MAY 2012 my computer has died!!! If I DO NOT GET TO YOU FAST E'NUFF--SORRY!!! I WONT BE GETTING A NEW ONE UNTIL "HOPEFULLY DECEMBER"!! Just bear with me PLEASE & THANK YOU!!!! <<<<< Oh FYI, I'm NOT SCREAMING!!! :)

04 OCT 2012~Today as I was leaving tokens for my family members I "FOUND" ONE OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS HAVE BEEN "MERGED" & A LINK TO CLICK ON. WELL THE LINK IS BROKEN & MY GREAT AUNT IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND ON F.A.G. SO I MADE HER A "2ND PAGE". IF YOU WANT TO "MERGE THE SAME PERSON" LET ME KNOW BECAUSE I KNOW I HAVE PUT THE INFO & PICTURES ON THERE. THANKS

28 JAN 2013~ I have been having the WORST TROUBLE WITH MY INTERNET & COMPUTER LATELY!! SO If I have left something UNDONE; I WILL GET BACK TO IT AS SOON AS AT&T GETS THEIR END WITH U-VERSE FIX TO STAY ONLINE LONGER THAN 1 HR WITHOUT KICKING ME OFF!! Computer & internet companies...whatcha gonna do. BUT I HAVE NOT LEFT THE UN-DONE FOR NOT CARING, FOR I CARE VERY MUCH ABOUT WHAT I DO FOR FAMILY MEMEBERS & EVEN THOSE WHO ARE NOT!! THANKS FOR THE UNDERSTANDING & PATIENCE!! :)

Vina Beard Rushing
Hello,
I was wondering if you know where at Sims Cemetery that Vina is buried? I would love to get a photo of her stone, if there is one.
I live in Kansas and come down about once a year to visit family. Vina is a distant grandparent of mine and I am trying to do research on my father's family.
I would appreciate any help I could get. I am currently in Tylertown, MS and am headed back to Kansas tomorrow.

Thank you,
Belinda "Rushing" Brown

He is my Great Grandfather.
Grandfather-Andrew Vertis Rushing,
Father-Willie J. Rushing.
See we are also connected by Frank Jones; do you know where his Father is buried, do remember him. He had a sister, Alice Garner. Frank was my step-Grandfather. Mae Myers Spencer was my Grandmother, Mother-Annie Mae Spencer Rushing. Who are your parents? Probably went to school with them. Thanks! Sunshine

LASHOMA
I am the daughter of Georgia Idelia Barron and the granddaughter of George Columbus Barron who is the son of Richard Benjamin Barron, son of William Thomas Barron, son of Samuel who is the son of Lashoma. I would love more information on her too! Who was Samuel's father. My mother always told me that our grandfather had Cherokee Indian blood in him but, so far, I have not found out anymore info on Samuel Barron or LaShoma.
Thanks,

RE: Citation needed for the William McMorries page
My line is through Alexander McMorries's son William. Then William -> John -> George W. -> William Walter -> Howell. The big mystery at the moment is what happened to Alexander's son William. He moved to Livingston Parish, Louisiana in 1839; but Alexander's will, dated 1841, says that William was deceased. The probate records for John and his siblings confirm this, but don't mention what happened to William. Unfortunately, I no longer live in LA, so its hard to go digging through old records. Hopefully one day I will find out!

RE: Citation needed for the William McMorries page
I thought about this some more last night and realized, that although at the moment I am the only contributor to the narrative, since the werelate.org is a wiki, others can eventually add to the narrative. Therefore, a more proper way to cite the information should be to simply say at the beginning something like the following: The following content was copied from http://www.werelate.org/wiki/Person:William_McMorries_%281%29. That way, no matter who contributes to the narrative, the source of the material will be shown as coming from the werelate.org site. I do this type of citation a lot when its not obvious who the author is. Pleae also add a similar statement with http://www.werelate.org/wiki/Person:Alexander_McMorries_%281%29 to the Alexander McMorries page.

You mentioned copying the citations that were on the page already -- technically, doing so is not proper citation. By copying the page, even with the citations at the bottom, but not citing that you copied the material from http://www.werelate.org/wiki/Person:William_McMorries_%281%29 or http://www.werelate.org/wiki/Person:Alexander_McMorries_%281%29 is still plagiarism. I say this not to be mean, but to make sure you are protecting yourself from others out there that may not be very nice people. When in doubt, cite as much information as you possibly can.

RE: Citation needed for the William McMorries page
I completely understand. I'm out of town right now, so I will add the reference to myself to the write-ups on my werelate pages once I return home. Thank you for the quick reply.

Citation needed for the William McMorries page
Dear Faerietaleprincess,

Looking at the William McMorries page, I noticed that the text from my werelate.org page was used without citing me as the author. Use of my text is fine as long as you add my name as the author. I have emailed Mr. Durr concerning this as well and copied below is the email that I sent to him:

Dear Mr. Durr,

I was looking at the William McMorries page on findagrave.com again today. I noticed you added the text from my werelate.org site. That is fine, but I would appreciate if you cited me as the author. That text is the result of many years of research. I noticed that Faerietalprincess has taken over maintenance of the page and I will cc this email to her as well.

Thank you,

Aaron McMorris

RE: Hey :)
Hello Cousin! Happy Labor Day holidays! I hope that you had a great summer.

I saw your photo of Uncle Joe, you posted on his find a grave page. That's awesome. I harvested it to put in my personal scrapbook. Finding photos of my end of the family has been no easy task. Granny (Aunt Ollie) would be so thrilled if she were alive to see that photo. She always spoke so very highly of Joe. He died when I was like 2 years old, but Aunt Marie was alive and visited often and one of my most vivid recollections was all the talk about "Joe".

I follow the local paper online there in Morganton and I sometimes see death notices of a few folks who knew or at knew of some of the people who connect us.

I'm a bit worried as recently I saw a photo of Granny's (Aunt Ollie) grave head stone and it appears that there is a large piece missing in the lower right of the stone. My last visit to Morganton was like 5 years ago and anytime I'm close to Burke County I always visit Forest Hills. My last visit the stone was intact. I could I guess speak to a headstone maker and see about repairs ... or I'm seeing a bad photo. Looks like this picture was submitted in 2009, adding an additional photo to the one I submitted in May 2008 (my last visit to Burke County).

Do you happen to know anyone in the marker business who could repair, replace and moreso go out and find it?

Good to hear from you and you may always contact me here or at mark@greatatlanticmedia.com and do stay in touch!
