|Saundra Dowling||RE: Robert Gardner (photo removal)|
Find A Grave feels the photo of the USA Flag that flys over the Jacksonville National Cemetery is not attached to any veteran on a personal level. They stated, Only photos of the headstone, the person in life, their family, and the automatically added "main cemetery photo" can be in the photo section. . There for it was removed by Find A Grave. I can have it as a "flower" in the coment section only.
I always thought that the USA flag was attached to all veterans on a personal level but according to the rules it is not. :( If you would like to add my photo to your "virtual flower" please feel free to do so.

****FIND A GRAVE will not allow this photo( which I now have set as my profile photo) to be placed in the photo area of memorials. Why? Because Find a grave feels it is not an image that is personally attached to the deceased.
I as a wife of a Veteran and the grandmother of an active soldier feel the USA FLAG is personally attached to a veteran, after all they fought to defend it and served under this "image" IF that is not a personal attachment then what is folks? So to the veteran's families who I had include this flag of HONOR to their memorial it was not removed by me but by Find a grave. I am truely sorry that we can't show the image of our American Flag, that Veterans proudly served under, at half mask which is a sign of the quality of being thankful, appreciation for and to honor them.
I made the photo at the Jacksonville National Cemetery as the US Flag is at half mask Mon -Friday when a Veteran is laid to rest. No copywrite was broken as I am the owner of photo.

Please let me know if you'd ever like me to return to the cemetery cemetery nearby (Solano, Napa, and Contra Costa counties).
Have a wonderful day, Joyce.
|The Genealogy Genie||Oops!|
My mistake- it is only Joseph Watson's stone that has been uprooted.
|The Genealogy Genie||Watson|
I just returned from Carquinez Cemetery. I'm sorry, Joyce, but the fourth stone just has the surname listed. I took closeups of the stones and will be adding them to their tributes in just a bit. I'm afraid that they have suffered somewhat since the photo I've taken. Two of the stones are now uprooted.

I'm sorry, but I don't know right off who is the 4th person buried in the Watson plot. Please let me know if you'd like me to go out there this Saturday and check. I live only a couple of miles from the cemetery.

Thank You for your coment on the photo of the half masked flag. I place it when I add a photo of a veteran in honor of their service.

|Ada West||Photo request for Rogers Gardner|
I was at the cemetery this morning and took a picture of the requested marker but the name of his spouse has not been added. There is just a small temporary placard on the bottom. If you would like for me to forward that picture, I will gladly do so but I'm thinking you want a picture WHEN her name has been added to the marker. I will gladly keep the request on my desk and check from time to time and post it when the name has been added but perhaps you might then want to remove the photo request since it could be another month or so before that is done. Let me know and will be glad to accommodate you in whatever you wish done. I only live 3 miles from the cemetery so it's no big deal!
