I sent you an edit request via email to include his biography, which is very impressive in his memorial.
His book published in the Highland democrat in 1922 is available on line.
Recollections of my Slavery Days

I have been helping someone who is verifying the information he has on Civil War Soldiers who died at Knight Memorial Hospital in New Haven. I have created a virtual cemetery listing the known burials at that memorial. There are also several Spanish American War Veterans buried there, for a total of 134 memorials. At this point it is an ongoing project for me.

I have just posted a picture to Henry Singleton's memorial and it shows his rank as Sgt. rather than Col. Thought you would want to know.

Gregg, Thanks for this info. I actually had Emily Post Chadwick listed in my virtual cemetery because of the Post middle name, as there are other Post/Tompkins connections and it didn't occur to me that she might have married again. My mother Natalie Tompkins Singleton, would be a descendant of Emily through her son Bartholomew. Best Wishes, Rich Singleton
I have transferred the memorials you requested. We are related so would like to discuss family with you, please.

Hi. I am interested in seeing this cemetery. I live in Brewster, so am familiar with the area. Could you give me the locale? Thanks.
