Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a vocational archaeologists(1972), vocational paleontologists(1972) and
I have been a vocational historian and writer of Harris County,Texas since 1984 and Family Genealogy starting in 1985.

Being a native born Houstonian, (1959),Houston Heights, I have seen countless cemeteries disappear over the years.
By listing those cemeteries that are no longer in use or lost forever I can save a little part of Harris County history.

Cemeteries are wonderful places so full of history and art. Some are sad too...... So many need to be saved!!!!

May I ask where you found her photo, and may I request a copy for my family archives, please? Or permission to save the one on her memorial. I'd really appreciate it. By my calculations, she is a sister to one of my maternal g-grandfathers, William Jordan.

Thank you for your time!

TLH
Willie McCarty photo request
Hi, the volunteers would be happy to fill your photo request however we will need a burial location to do so.
Can you please contact Laurel Land and get a burial location for your request? The number is 214 371 1336

or the email link is:
http://www.laurellanddallas.com/home/contact_us.html

There are over 391 photo requests currently and the volunteers cannot ask for that many locations to fill requests. With a location, your request will get filled pretty quickly. Thanks for your help!

Not really pleased with lighting on the shot, but I have planned to return to Greenwood within the next week. Will return after 2 pm with chalk for better detail.

I wasamazed at how much my brother Lane looks like him. If you have more pictures I would love to see them too. Also any of his daughter Alice if you have any. My email is ellino1969@yahoo.com. Dorrell Ford
Hi George,
Yesterday I photographed Mary Ford & what I thought was an unmarked grave for Dorrell, but I always check with the office. Got an e-mail from cemetery today saying there should be a marker for Dorrell & they will uncover. If they do so, I'll take another photo on my next visit.

Another cemetery lost
Sorry to tell you that I was told that the Arsenau Cemetery was bull dozed over several years ago,

I recently moved into this area and asked the locals about it last year. When I was told it no longer exists, I called the local Historical Society and they verified that it is gone. There are many old cemeteries in the area and I panicked... But, not to worry, the good news is that laws were passed to prevent this from happening again.

Good luck with your quest.
