RE: Old Hill cemetery Brazil Indiana
Straight ahead from the steps and past the big Cale Hill monument and keep walking straight. One Donohue stone is up and the other has been knocked over. I work in Brazil, so went in today after work and took a few shots.

Actually I have something that would have helped. It's a listing of when the cemetery was walked in 1978. The Donohue stones are about 4-5 stones down from the John and Lucy Brownlee stone. Brownlee, Criss, Michaelree, and then Donohue. The Brownlee stone would be easy to spot. It's actually further up the hill that what I had speculated. I thought I had photographed all of the stones up there and posted them, but I guess not. I've been copying this cemetery but I've been doing it in "chunks" rather than rows, and I thought I was 2/3-3/4 finished but I haven't worked on it for a couple of years.

I think you will have better luck reading the stones if the sun is out, which I think it is supposed to be. Many old and deteriorating stones.

Just one more thought. I think you will have your best success on a sunny day. A lot of deteriorating stones there. The angled light helps you to read some of them.

I noticed if you click on the tab that says map, on the Old Hill Cemetery main screen, it will switch you to a map of the cemetery and area. If you then click on the satellite tab in the right corner of the map, it will switch to a google earth view of the cemetery. Good luck in finding those graves.

Mary, Coming from Terre Haute, take US 40 to Brazil. At the Clay/Vigo county line, there is an intersection with road 340. It veers off to the left, off of 40. Take that. Drive all the way to Brazil. Old Hill Cemetery is really the first thing you will see (on the left) as you come into Brazil, before getting to the stop light. You can park across the street and enter the cemetery by going up the steps. It's on a hill. I don't know where those graves are specifically, but since I have been photographing the cemetery and am not finished, and there is no photo of those graves posted, I would say the graves are most likely to be on the west end of the cemetery, at or near the bottom of the hill. Contact me if you need more information. The trip from the east side of Terre Haute to the cemetery is about 15 miles.

RE: Grass
You are welcome. I had taken new pictures this morning which didn't come out too good because of the coloring of the stone and sunlight.
But, then discovered I had entered memorials and pictures for them some time ago but under CRASS as they were listed in the cemetery book and had looked that way on the stone. So, I transferred the picture I had on those and deleted the memorials. Nice to know they now have the correct name!

Per your request, E. & K. Rowland have been transferred to you. It has been confirmed that Katie will be interred with her parents, in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, not the Granville Cemetery. Although the two cemeteries are adjacent, they are not the same. I was unable to locate an obituary for Elbert, but might run across it later. Thank you for your patience. I wanted to make sure Katie's memorial was in the correct cemetery and now, it is.

RE: Robert Baird
I know the calculated birth date on the stone doesn't agree with what I have on the memorial. The date I used is from Robt and Margaret's bible, and I consider that a more reliable source.
