Drusilla C. Smith Thornton
Hi,

I saw you have a sister of Drusilla C. Smith Thornton, in your memorials. Drusilla was a daughter of James R. Smith and Acenthia of Pulaski County, Virginia. She had married Reuben Thornton and apparently they moved from Pulaski County over to the Talcott, West Virginia area. She and Reuben Thornton are buried in the Talcott Cemetery.

Alexander Fortner's father?
Victoria,

I have a question. How were you able to determine that Gideon Fortner is Alexander Fortner's father? All of my research indicates that Alexander was born in 1870 and since Gideon died in 1862, this seems to be a bit impossible. I am referring to the notes on #103013951. Let me know if there is something I am missing. Thanks. Louisa

Isaiah Phipps & Benjamin Phipps Cemetery
Hi Vickie, My wife (#47319613) said you had some questions regarding your memorial of Elsie Helen Rauschenbach Phipps (90772159)at the Isaiah Phipps Cemetery and a duplicate of her found at the Benjamin Phipps Family Cemetery (35960978). I have found that her husband George Dewey Phipps (90772094) in the Isaiah Phipps Cem. has also been duplicated by the same person in the Benjamin Phipps Cem.(35961055).

I checked through the two cemeteries and I saw only one more duplicate. It is the one for Sarah Ann Howell Phipps (14494021) in the Isaiah Phipps Cem. Sarah's duplicate in the Benjamin Phipps Cem. is # 49520501.

The pictures we took and placed on your memorials were taken at the Isaiah Phipps Cem. While we were at the cemetery we spoke with the current owner of the property, George Phipps, Jr. and he pointed out to us the headstone of his parents, George Dewey Phipps & Elsie Helen Rauschenbach Phipps. You are correct that the photo taken for them that appears on their memorials in the Benjamin Phipps Cem. was actually taken at the Isaiah Phipps Cemetery.

We totally photographed both cemeteries. All of your memorials on which we placed pictures were correctly placed.

According to Find A Grave Guidelines the memorial that has the correct placement takes precedence over incorrect placement even if that memorial is older. So all three of the memorials mentioned above should remain in the Isaiah Phipps Cem. I will submit the three duplicate memorials to Find A Grave for their deletion.

RE: cemetery question

I will pass this edit on to David my husband since he is related to most of Grayson Co. He will likely be contacting you through his profile.

Euphemia Famie Breeding Quesenberry
My great grandparents were Ira Seba and Emma Citie Quesenberry Akers from Floyd County Virginia. I have some research that my aunt had done whee she lists Euphemia Breeding Quesenberry as an ancestor. (She actually sent me the same picture that is on the find a grave site, but I am not sure where she obtained it). I cannot seem to find the exact connection or if there even is one. Wondering if you can be of assistance?
Thank you,
Darla (Akers) Phelps

Andrew Jackson Warden
You have posted the wrong death certificate to this man's memorial as you have posted one for Andy Warden who was younger and died two years later at the state hospital. Please remove the one you posted.
Thanks.

Burnett photo requests
I live in Galax Virginia which sits between Carroll County and Grayson County Virginia. There are some fairly good sources of lists of graves in this area which surprised me because its still a rural area and somewhat depressed but recovering. After much "clicking" and much cross referencing I discovered that at least one of photos requested on your page is kinda/sorta listed in the wrong cemetery. Burnett(s) seem to be scattered around and, of course, associated with other surnames. Your request for a photo of the tombstone of Isaac Burnett is listed as "Only", Burnett Cemetery. There are at least four, maybe six or more, cemeteries with Burnett name associated. I discovered Isaac Burnett is actually buried in the Melton-Burnett Family Cemetery, http://www.newrivernotes.com/carroll_cemeteries_melton_burnett_family_cemetery.htm
There is also a Mary Anna Burnett listed. This might? be the Nancy Burnett you are looking for because I found a narrative where the writer who seems knowledgeable used both names with the ( ) around one or the other.... I forget. If you need that reference I Might? be able to find the narrative I read but... might no be able to. If you want a photo of any of the graves on the list above, let me know. Then my next task with be to find out how to go on private property in this rather rural area without picking up a load of possibly fatal buckshot or a trespass citation. Any training, blogs, etc. about that would be greatly appreciated as... I have been retired for 6 years to this area and am bored out of my mind. An occasional trek into the woods to photograph graves would be a nice diversion that might be useful to others.

RE: re Cecil G HIll 120714522

Vickie,

It just struck me after you finding the middle name as Gladys. I know another female relative named, Cecil and even a mail named Vivian. I bet that Cecil Gladys is his wife. I'm going to do some checking on that basis. I hadn't found a wife for him yet.

Thanks for the help.
