I grew up steeped in family history and honor, finding out years later it's actually called genealogy. Raised by my grandparents, we always had Sunday dinner with aunts, uncles, and cousins and in those days, we indeed used those titles--Aunt Dorothy, Uncle Floyd, Cousin Donald, and Cousin Jeff were among my faves! On Decoration Day (now known as Memorial Day), we always spent the day going to cemeteries, leaving flowers and flags and recounting stories and history.|
I'm one of the remaining family historians and am so grateful for the awesome research and record-keeping available through today's technology. I'm sure that one of my kids or grandkids will take over for me one day and find the FindAGrave website as fantastic as I have!
I am researching primarily Welborn (Wellborn), Overton, Wright, Dillman, Jackson, Bradfield, Chatten, Forbes, Adams, Pugsley, Mercer, Rutledge, Robertson, Dill, but am interested in many others as branches occur.
Thanks to all who have posted memorials--I've found lots of relatives! If I've posted a memorial that you would like to maintain, just let me know and I can get it transferred to you. Thanks to all!

I believe this is my great-uncle Jude Christian Blockcolski, brother of my grandfather Earnest Frederick John Blockcolski. Parents Ludwig/Lewis Blockcolski and Anna Elizabeth Gitter Blockcolski.
The dates would fit. If you have any further information, please let me know. Thank you.

I'm doing some research on Ancestry and came across your post on Find-a-Grave. I saw your pictures of Margies Kent's grave site. Thanks for all your work.
My Grandfather was Raymond Chester Overton, husband to Margie Vera Kent. Margie was my Mother's mother. Margie died when my mother was 7 years old. I live in Seattle having moved from the Chicago Area in 1983. My father was William Arthur Boyer (d 2/2010 Pancreatic Cancer) and Mother was Bonnie Rae Overton Boyer (d 6/2006 Aphasia/Alzheimer's).
I have included an earlier pic of my family (Sherrill, Matthew, Spencer and Dave) with my father and mother next to the Michigan Cottage. This is before my mother developed Alzheimer's. I have one brother, William Arthur Boyer, Jr. He lives in Sandy, Utah. Also included is an old pic of Bonnie, Dolores, Jim and Raymond Overton. These would be Bonnie's 1/2 brothers and sister. I think this pic was taken in Enid, OK.
Let me know if you would like additional info or pics.

Thank you, Fay, for Opal's memorial. I finally got a brief biography written for her. I appreciate you!

Fay; thanks for the edits on the Moore's at White Cemetery. I've found a few more and made edit suggestions.

thank you so much!

Are you related to the Wellborn/Wellburn's buried at Antioch UMC in Fairburn. My Dad is related to them (he is 80) and we are trying our best to track some folks down. Lillie Mae was his father's sister. Look forward to hearing from you.
|Sandy Burt Gaddis||Wellborns - Sageville UMC|
Kay, I sent you an email(March 27) about the letter you wrote to Sageville's pastor, Pam but haven't heard back from you. She forward the letter to me since I am the Historian of our church.
We do not have burial records back to the 1900's.
You may want to check with funeral homes in the area to see if they have records where Elijah and Mary were buried. Also check with the newspapers in the area. Meridian Star is the only one publishing at this time but I don't know when they began publishing.
If you want to place markers in the cemetery it will have to be referred to our Trustess to see what the guidelines are in place to address this situation.
Sorry I couldn't help.
