| Bio and Links | My obsession started in Ohio 1978 when my husband's cousin wrote that their grgr/father had died in Crawford County in 1848 and could we find his grave. We drove the 97 miles with a clipboard and not a clue. The first Saturday we searched in two of the 16 cemeteries in that county, next weekend drove back again and happened upon his grave. You could have heard me yell for miles!!
That started the search and eventually found documentation where Lt. Col. Frederick Wise had bought horses for George Washington at Valley Forge. This enabled my husband to join the Sons of the American Revolution where he has been an officer and active member since 1996.
My goal when researching a family is to find "who got off the boat", port of embarkation, name of the ship and port of immigration. Don't tell me your family came from Pennsylvania...how did they get there? Then following the family across the United States, and eventually the place of burial. Findagrave has been great for connecting people all across the country.
My family wasn't as much fun, as they immigrated from Norway in 1914.
I will transfer any name if they are not my family. | |

 | Elise Marie Lund Bondly I'm a distant relative of Elise Marie Lund Bondly, and don't have too much information on her. I'm really more interested in the Bondly side of the family (my great grandmother was a 'Bondli'), but if you can even tell me what Elise's parents' names were, if you have it, I would love to have that info for my family tree. Thanks. | | | Jim Zingler
 | Otis Vandervort Would you please link Otis with his parents.
father: James Vandervort #100014093 mother: Ann Vandervort #100014403
Also, Otis's middle name is Oliver
Thank you. | | | Janine Pellman Seis
 | RE: Elizabeth and Waino Harju Thanks for making the corrections. If you want to transfer them, that is fine, but not necessary (if you don't mind me giving you more info in the future to add). Janine | | | Zita Eide Knop
 | re; ardenhurst-alvwood Lindy, I finally got all the photos that I took at Ardenhurst loaded; I obviously need to go back. I have two pictures that I don't have a last name on and can't recall exactly where they are in relation to a larger headstone. Also I am missing pictures of persons listed (9)so I will need to check again as when I was there it was after a bad storm and there were trees down so stones may have been covered. Also could you go in and correct some spelling errors, particularly on the Hansen's, most are sen not son, and the Smigley's are Singley's, also a couple first names are spelled wrong, can't remember last names now though, one was percy not perry and one was a marian not marion. My head is a bit muddled, I put in about 220+ pictures and added 50+ memorials in there. There are a few duplicates too. And Carl L. White is really Gary L. White, and Oscar Reitan is in twice, once by his last name first and the other by his first name as his last name. One of my pictures I couldn't read the name on because of the sunlight, so I'll have to go at another time of day to fix that. But it is almost completed.....I think there is a total of 11 left. I'm not sure how soon I will be able to get there, though but it would be nice to finish one whole cemetery. I have pictures of 3 other cemeteries in my camera yet but have to delete some off my hard drive first so as not to be confused. | | | Carin Archer
 | Martin Eide I have added the dates and people you requested. Is this a relative of yours? If yes would you like me to transfer memorial to you? Carin | | | Zita Eide Knop
 | re; ardenhurst-alvwood No, none of these people are my family, however, I was in Kelliher, MN that day and drove by their on the way home and thought I would fulfill some requests. However, I forgot my list so I took pictures of all of them thinking that way I wouldn't have to make a trip back. Unfortunately, the best laid plans are meant to fail, some of the photos didn't turn out as well as I would have liked so I will have to someday go back and re-shoot some of them. On another note, do you think you might be related to the Weihs family? My Uncle Tom and Henry and Aunt Marie are Weihs children (German descent) but their name was changed to Wise. They are my mother's half siblings (her mother's first family); it was a his, hers and ours relationship and my mother is one of the ours so they were much older than she. My grandmother's real maiden name was Anna Wenker. Brainerd, MN is the area that they lived in, but she was deceased about 1961 or so. I don't remember her, so it's hard for me to pinpoint. I read your bio and found it interesting, I just started getting interested because I'm looking for my grandparents as I never knew them being the youngest of 9. My father never spoke of his family at all and my mother was not very helpful as I was so young. | | | Michael R. McKinzie
