RE: Elizabeth Gaumer

Riley and Elizabeth had two children who died and are buried in New Hope. Albert, b. 21 May 1860 d. 7 Apr 1862, is the infant shown in the 1860 census on Jun 16, although the age of 4 months is not correct based on the stone transcription. The stone is very hard to read now and the transcription is based on an older transcription of the cemetery done by MCCOGS when the stone was more legible. MCCOGS will be rereading the cemetery soon and will attempt to make sure these dates are correct. These dates are also the same found on LDS Pedigree File at

The younger infant who died in 1864 could not have been the one born in 1860 and listed in the census as that had to be Albert. No date of birth is given but because the child was not named I assume it was a still birth or he died within a day or hours of birth. The same LDS Pedigree file gives the birth approximated to 1862 but the child would have been named had he been this old.

There is not much other data on these children except a mention in Elizabeth's obit that she and Riley had 5 sons, 3 of which preceded her in death. The third of these, Melvin, died in 1904.

I no longer manage the Memorial I made for Elizabeth, perhaps the person I transferred the Memorial to can help you with the information you are seeking if you contact him.

Ludwig Stotz
Paula, thanks for the info. John Jacob, born 1748, and John, born 1751, would be different children. So it looks like Ludwig might have had five children. If you have further info, let me know.
