I am retired and when not busy with|
family and church matters I spend
my time on family history and genealogy.
I try to visit old graveyards before
others who tend to focus only on their own
family or short change the survey
due to the effort required.
This has been a favorite pastime
since 2001, before Findagrave or ancestry.com
I am closely related to but a few
folks I add listings and photos for.
Obviously I don't know your family history so if you want it added send it in or request a transfer.
I have and support hundreds of thousands of listings and photos on my site and here.
I welcome anyone needing help on this or any other site I support including these two:
Southern Middle Tennessee:
North Middle Alabama:
My emphasis is cemetery location, or getting the grave listing into the correct cemetery. Please don't guess at it. I see so many errors on this site regarding that. If you are having problems with location feel free to ask me; I know about where every graveyard is located; and the proper cemetery name in northern Alabama and southern middle Tennessee. In other words I have cemetery books on the following counties and use these as my references:
Maury Co. Tennessee - Giles Co. Tennessee -Lincoln County Tennessee - Marshall Co. Tennessee - Bedford Co. Tennessee - Lawrence Co. Tennessee
Madison Co. Alabama Vol 1 & 11 - Limestone Co. Alabama - Bits and peices on Lawrence Co. Al Colbert Co. Alabama and Lauderdale County Al.

|Grayson ||RE: Frances Smith Sandidge|
Thanks, I appreciate the Sandidge Cemetery update. I wonder if the surrounding land still belongs to the Stegar family. The area is called Stegar's Bend. Their grocery stood there until about 1970, I think, when a tornado hit it. The moved away but I think I can locate one of the daughters. I'll try to go to Madison Co Courthouse sometime and look up the current ownership record. Then we'd know for sure.
Question: where did you get the photos of the Sandidge stones?

Wayne thanks for the photo for Jane.
|David Birdsong||McDaniel Cemetery Lincoln County TN|
Hello Mr Austin,
My name is David Birdsong and I'm in Nashville, TN. I have just learned of this site and done some looking and found this cemetery. I have been maintaining this cemetery for close to 10 years now. My mother was Jean March Birdsong and was born just down the road about 1/2 mile and raised in Delina. I never knew this cemetery existed but Mom asked me to go down there and clear it off. It was a real mess. I believe that it was around 2007 when I covered it with the gravel so that it would be easier to keep cleared of the weeds. It is a labor of love for me.
Mom has since passed now and she and dad are buried nearby in the Medium Cemetery.
My contact info is email@example.com and my cell is 615-519-4482
|Shirley Patrick||Preuit cemetery|
would you give me exact location of this cemetery.
and also the location of Oakwood Cemetery
my grandmother was a Bates and her half brother was a Preuit.

Thanks, Wayne. I'm thinking that find a grave probably won't want to mess with clearing up Old Mount Hermon Cemetery. Stick with what your sure of, I guess.

I have made the correction to her bio that you suggested (corrected the spelling of Phillips). Thank you for noticing the error and letting me know. Best regards, Judy
|Gene Bivins||Find A Grave Memorial# 125336696|
Jemima Crockett Bivens (correct sp.) is my 4th great grandmother. I can't tell from the page who is currently maintaining the memorial. I would be willing to take it over if no one else is. I currently have charge of several of the Bivens/Bivins family memorials.
|Dennis Little||Horace Jerry Hollan|
Thank you for your post on Findagrave for Horace Jerry Holland. He was my grandfather's first cousin and I remember him and his second wife, Mildred, with great affection.
May I have your permission to add your bio on Horace to Ancestry.com and, of course, credit you?
Hello C. Wayne Austin. Thank you for all your work, it is impressive. I wondered, do you search your Bedford Co. Cem. Books for people? I have been unable to locate a few graves of my Freeman and Dixon ancestors from Bedford County. I have been to both Bedford, TN, and Izard, AR and cannot locate them either place. They are; Russell Freeman (wife Celia Good)
and Polly Hill-Dixon (husband Matthew). Thank you. If you happen to find either, it would be great. Genealogist47336229
