RE: Harrison H. and Lucinda (Harper) Thacker
I don't know how much help this will be but in Vinton County, there is a George Washington Thacker, a Holdman Thacker(1816) and an Ivory Thacker(1820) all from Virginia and two have sons named Harrison Henry. Named perhaps for an uncle? There is also an Eleanor Harper (1784) in Vinton from Maryland which is where Lucinda's parents were from. Vinton County is right next to Ross County.

You might ask Leroy for a transfer...I don't believe he's related. Judith

Michele, I don't mind doing transfers, but please use the edit button on the memorial to make the the request and be sure to include your Find A Grave number. That makes it easy for me.

Arthur Chilson - Photo Request Fulfilled
Hi again. You should have gotten a "success" e-mail for this. I just wanted you to know that the caption reads: "He is buried almost exactly in the center of this photo, between two graves that do have markers, just to the left of what looks like a line running through the photo. This line is actually a section demarcation." According to something I read in the forums, I guess not everyone knows about captions. I just wanted to make sure you see it (you click on the photo to read it and see a larger version of the photo). But maybe you already knew this. I'll keep in mind your generous offer re Northern Alabama. Good night!

RE: Arthur Chilson - Roosevelt Memorial Park
I just gave the cemetery a ring and unfortunately, Arthur's next of kin never had a marker installed. I hate when this happens! Everyone should have a gravestone. Then to make it worse, I was also told that they have no record of Paul Chilson. Sorry to report this outcome. I will upload the photo I took of the area when I get off work today.

Okay. But I think I will hold off on submitting the photo as a "fulfillment" until I know for sure there is not a marker. I am pretty sure I was in the right place because this cemetery is laid out well as far as numbers along the curbs and cement numbers placed in the ground. But I want to be sure. I'll ring them tomorrow and then let you know what they say about Paul, as well.

Athur Chilson - Roosevelt Memorial Park
Hello. I have claimed your photo request for Arthur but I do not believe there is a marker for him. I was out there today but the office is closed. They told me the location over the phone on Friday, but did not tell me about a marker. Sometimes the staff at this cemetery have to go look it up in the vault, if the info is not on their computer. So I will ring them tomorrow and ask. I took a picture of the area where I believe he is buried. If the grave is not marked, do you want me to upload the photo of the area?

Thanks for letting me know, I was going to go to the library and look her up today. That's really too bad about the stone, but at least Elmwood has the record of it, so you aren't left wondering, they have always been very helpful.

Let me know if there is ever anything else I can help with, I am only blocks away from Elmwood.
