|I have always loved history & have wonder what makes me, me. My search for my ancestors started in 2001. I gave it up for a short time due to other things. I re-started my search again this year (2008).It has really help to get me out of the dumps following my mother's death in Feb. I remember my mom telling me of different family members and trying to figure out where they fit in. She said we were related to some one from the Mayflower. Of course I laughed and said everybody says that. We should all listen & ask questions before our loved ones pass on. My mother was right. Our family on my dad's side is related to Francis Cooke of the Mayflower. How I wished mom was here so I could say you where right (she would have loved that). She also said there has always been a story in the family of one of the grandfathers being an illegitimate child of Gen. George Custer. How do you prove that one ! Thanks to all who have contributed to findagrave. I know it has helped me. |
The surnames in my family on both sides are: Cooke,Giersbach,Kishpaugh,Ackley,Petty,Richards, Houck,Dunn,Curlis,Transue,Cole & Tuttle.

The dates came from an inscription list and DoD came from a burial record list. The column is headed DOD but it could be burial date. Year and month should be okay. I found many errors in dates on gravestones. Can you post the photo of gravestone? Hope this helps.
