Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born at Fairview Park Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, October 23, 1951. My parents were Eugene and Eloise Lemmers. I have an older brother and sister.
I grew up in Cleveland Heights, a very nice suburb on Cleveland's east side, and graduated from Heights High School. I later attended and graduated from Kent State University. I have worked at various jobs, including being a ranch hand in Wyoming, but most of my adult life I've worked as a National Park Service interpretive ranger.
Going back to the 1950s, I always had an interest in American Civil War history. Currently I live just outside Gettysburg, PA, with my wife and several of our younger children.
My wife of over 30 years, the former Catherine Morris, I met in Wyoming. Her family has an interesting genealogy that includes pioneers, both Union and Confederate soldiers, and cowboys. My ancestors included a number of Union soldiers from Ohio and Indiana.
My parents are both gone now. My father was an inventor with over 78 U.S. Patents. Wanting to honor our ancestors and record family history has been the driving force in my involvement with this web site.
One of my wife's great-great-great-great grandmothers, Kitturah Stamps Ewalt Bailey, was a sister-in-law of Confederate President Jefferson Davis. One of Cathy's great great great grandfathers was Samuel Henry Ewalt, a Confederate cavalry officer from LaBelle, Missouri. A cousin of my wife, Captain Isaac Davis Stamps of the 21st Mississippi, died at Gettysburg 7/2/1863. My wife is also a descendant of U.S. President John Adam's great grandfather, as well as several passengers of the Mayflower through her Parsons, Thompson, and Curtis family ties.

John Adams Memorial # 28283437
Hello, I was wondering if you would be so kind as to transfer John to me, as he is my Great Great Uncle and son of my Great Great Great Grandfather Andrew Adams from Hesse-Cassel, Germany. I would very much like to fix his birthdate and fix his birthplace. He was born like his brothers and parents in Germany. They all came over on the Ship Atlas out of Bremin, Germany in 1848. Please let me know if this is feasible. His father Andrew Adams memorial # 65380741, His brother Henry Adams memorial # 28946181. Thank you so kindly I am still piecing my family together but finally have found John's death certificate and the ship manifest of the family coming over from Germany. Thanks for all the work you have put into your research. You really are helping many people find loved ones they might not have found otherwise.

Sincerely,
Rose

Henry Ewalt
Greetings,
I am helping a friend with her DAR papers. We are
looking for information on
for Henry Ewalt. Since you have noted that you are the person responsible
for the information and you note "We have the birth dates and *other
information."* I wonder if you might have a family bible? Would you mind
sending me a scan of what you have so that we can use that as primary
source for her application? Thank you so much for any assistance.

RE: Conrad Nuhn 1873-1946
Hello,
Thank you for the info on Mr Nuhn. I have made the correction and I also transfered the memorial to you since you are his grandson. That memorial belongs with family. Hope it was okay that I did so. Have a great day.

Gettysburg Cemetery
Thanks for remembering the many brave men who fought and died at Gettysburg. I left flowers on your memorials that did not have flowers. Everyone deserves flowers. I look forward to visiting Gettysburg in July of 2009 for the reenactments.

Hello,
Thank You for the information on your grandmother's memorial. I will correct it tonight. You mentioned her birth date is September 10, 1977 which I assume you meant her death was on September 10 1977. Could you let me know exactly and I will correct it.
Also would you like me to add what you told me about her in her bio. Let me know if you would like me to. Thanks again. If you know your grandma's birthday too, let me know.
Thank You,
Jessica A.
