Decendants
I do believe that Lolee Brown is my grandfather's brother. My grandfather is Rev. J. W. Brown and his wife was Clara Lee Brown. They are bother interned at Kent Cemetery in Forrest county. I am working on a family tree and I am so glad I came across this.

George Holton, born 1888 in Dekalb, MS
George Holton was my paternal grandfather. He was from Dekalb, Ms. His mother was an Indian who died when he was around 16. He had two sisters , Eva and Amanda (called Mandie); brothers:Genie,Luke, and William. He lived in Midnight and Louise, MS.
He married "Lizzie" ( Elizabeth) Clark. They had seven children, five boys and two girls-my father Frank, Herman, Walter, Ernest, Roy, Georgia, and Hellen. I heard talk of Ma Neely (?spelling). I am not sure if she was his mother but that is what I thought. I would appreciate any info you could give. Your info on Find a Grave has been most helpful but I just have not been able to make a link with my grandfather, George Holton 1888-1969.
Thank you,
Frenchie Holton Bailey

I would like to invite you to join our group of vollinteers in Lauderdale, County,

You can go to facebook and join FIND-A-GRAVE, LAUDERDALE COUNTY, MS and become a member, we will be having meetings sometime soon to meet and discuss Find A Grave.

I have found with so many cemeteries being added that some are already listed. A more pin point of the cemetery would help those wanting to work the cemetery, find it. Thanks

RE: Retha Brown Bourrage
Yes. I am related to her (Retha Brown). She was my grandmother. I never met her or Alonzie Bourrage (my grandfather). To make a long story short... I never had any grandparents on neither side of my parents growing up. I'm at the point in my life were I want to know my roots so I went to Ancestry.com and started my family tree. I am the son of Retha Bourrage Powe and Arthur James Powe. I've heard the story growing up that Retha's (my mother)mother fell in the kitchen at an early age around 17 and died. She was adopted and know one (all of her surviving sisters and brothers as of today) seems to know who her biological parents were. Anyway I'm wondering... how do you know Ellijah Hollins is Retha Brown's biological father. According to Ancestry.com I have Ivan Brown and Martha Brown as her parents. Upon further research, I found out that they adopted Retha Brown at the age of 3 (which confirmed the story that I've heard growing up).
