|My name is Dianne DeCamp Carpenter I have been married for 26 years. We have four children three daughters and one son and 8 grandchildren. I started my research about ten years ago and have become very passionate about my genealogy. Luckly my husband and kids understand and support the fact that sometimes I just need spend all day doing it. The only regret I have is not starting it years earlier.|

Hello Dianne. We are 4th cousins, since your gg-grandmother Matilda (Volk) Hise was sister to my gg-grandfather Albert Volk (92537630). I just discovered Matilda today, and was quite excited to find one of the missing siblings for this family. I've done a lot of work on the Volk ancestry, most of which is available at familysearch.org, so I hope you'll take a look. Also I'm wondering what documents or photos you might have for Matilda's branch of the family. I could not find her in any census between 1850 and 1900, but the birthday matches. Looking forward to a correspondence.
Dianne if you have more that need transferring just ask me and I will be happy to transfer to you.

I am glad I could help you. I understand because I have been looking for relatives too. My 17 year old son and I took pictures of every stone in Brookside. He took most of them as a kind of summer project. He has taken pictures of over 4000 graves this summer. I have been trying to get them posted as I get the time.
I will transfer those graves to you as soon as I figure out how to do it.
Hi Auntie Di! I added you to my friends on here :)

You will be happy to know that your grandfather is buried in one of the best taken care of cemeteries Ive been in. All the old stones that fall over are remounted and fixed if needed. I dont know who takes care of it, but they do a wonderful job. Just thought I would pass that along to you. Kim

You are very welcome for the photo. I am glad to be able to help others. I have lots of ancestors in Somerville Cemetery, and I have been photographing tombstones, but no DeCamps that I know of. Good luck with your research!
