My name is Judy, I'm retired and stay busy with family and friends. I started getting into geneology in 2005, and I still get just as excited when I find information on family as I did when I first started. It is so habit forming, and it just amazes me when other people don't feel the same way. Well their loss.|
If anyone has information on mine and my husband's family, it would be appreciated. Some of the names on my fathers side are: Boone, Archey/Archie, Miller, Sanderlin, Barbrey/Barbee/Barberie. My mothers side are: Wheeler, Davis, Phillips, Withers, Hamilton, Waddle, Finch.
My husband's fathers side: Brantley, Shelby, Wheeler, Lee, Clark. Mother's side are: Davis, Gray, Robinson/Roberson, Barnes, Funderburg, Downs.

The person that "owns" or creats the memorial has to update the memorial page itself. The only "family" options that findagrave gives you is parents and spouce. So when I come across a memorial that I know who the parents are and they are listed on findagrave I ask the memorial owner to add the parents, that way on the parents memorial page the children will appear. In this case when Nancy Mitchell updates the memorial on Jewel (Brantley) Dortch to show parents as Mary Brantley Barker and William Edward Baker, she will show up on their memorial page as a child.
I sent you the information note just so you would know, since you are the creator of the memorials for Mary Brantley Baker and William E. Baker, and if you wanted to update the "Bio" on Mary Brantley Baker's memorial to show the information on Jewel's date of death and place of burial.

I put in a request to update Jewel (Baker) Dortch's memorial:
to reflect her parents William E Baker and Mary Brantley Baker.

I was curious if instead of Oaklawn Cemetery you meant Oakland, as far as I know there is not an Oaklawn Cemetery in Monticello. I was just wondering, and if so you may want to change it in your information so that everyone knows where to look. I am, however, going to go to Oakland cemetery and look for the graves you requested.

I am so happy I could do this for you. I, too, appreciate all those who do this wonderful work at findagrave!

Do you know who this guy is?
By a private letter to the Augusta Republican learns the death of Mr. Benjamin Brantly, at Little Rock, Ark., on the 25th ult. The deceased resided for many years in Penfield, Ga., where he published the Christian Index and the Temperance Banner. – A few years since he removed to Little Rock. On the 19 of June he was taken suddenly ill, he suffered a great deal until within half an hour of his death; he then fell into a calm sleep. Those who knew him need not the comforting assurance that his death was triumphant in the Christian's hope.
