Franks - Backers
My father, Homer Eugene Backer, died this year on June 16. His passing sparked an interest to look up information on his parents. Imagine me finding the beautiful picture of Grandma Beulah that you posted on her record. I have also found out since then that Grandma Beulah was the second cousin once removed of her husband, my grandfather, Frank Backer. My uncle Howard was not even aware of this bit of family history!! I know a little about the Frank side of the family. I know Beulah had two brothers, Forrest and Melvin, and one sister, Effie. I knew Aunt Effie well as that is how my parents met. Aunt Effie and Uncle Poole Harrison lived in a duplex farm house with my maternal grandparents, the Kaczmareks. After Beulah died, my grandfather took Howard to live with the Harrisons. My dad visited and then met his future wife.
I did not know the brothers. I assume that you are descended from one of them.
I do have a picture of the family: Charlie, Emma and the four children. It is probably from that picture that you took the picture of Grandma Beulah. In the picture, Emma is identified as Emma Runge. I found somewhere that her maiden name was Weimeyer. What do you know about the Runge's? My uncle Howard is especiially interested as he remembers visiting with Runges as a child.
Looking forward to sharing stories with you.

Beulah Emma Frank Backer
I am Celia (Backer) Phillips, daughter of Homer Eugene Backer, son of Beulah Frank Backer.

I am propably a relative of yours, on the Frank side.

Thank you for the beautiful picture of Grandma Beulah. I never knew her, since she died in 1939 and I was born in 1948. In fact, this is only one of two pictures I have seen of my grandmother. My niece has the other one.

I hope you get this note and can respond to me.

I love visiting the cemeteries in the area and photographing them. If you have any additional information you would like me to add to your ancestor's page, let me know. Or if you would like me to transfer the page over to you so you can make the changes and additions, that is fine too. Just let me know what works best for you.
