Dr. Griffin's wife, Sarah Cowan, was the sister of my great grandfather. I would love to know more about the Griffin family. He was such a well respected doctor in Bell County.

You're very welcome Mary. It was my pleasure looking for the stone and taking the picture.
I'm glad I could help you and your family be able to see her stone.

No problem, Mary. My brother in SC lives just a few miles south of the cemetery, it was only a small detour, 5 minutes to drive, 15 minutes to walk through the cemetery and find the stones.
Cemetery is right in front of a couple of homes with a little stone wall around it. Its all overgrown with trees and brambles. Good thing I ran by in the winter, it would have been difficult to find the stones in summer.
My sister-in-law Debbie's mother lives in Beaumont so I can understand the hurricane problem, she's evacuated 3 or 4 times in the last 5 years but has had little damage to her house. I haven't visited that part of Texas in 15 years, since my brother and Debbie moved away.
Happy New Year!

How nice to hear from you! I am always interested to communicate with others regarding our family. I don't have any information about my great grandmother (Mary Black-Foster), so this was welcomed news. I didn't know her parents or anything about them.
Mary Rebecca Black-Foster was married to L.H. 'Cratus' Foster. He was a Baptist minister. He and Mary are buried in the Line Creek Baptist Cemetery in Ida, Louisiana. This cemetery is near the Texas state line. If you go to this cemtery through Find-a-Grave and notice all the Foster's, it's because most of our immediate family are buried there. There is another lady that goes by the name Mz Fish that started the info for this cemetery, but I also added some that she didn't know about.
My grandparents are Les and Reathie Foster. Les was Mary's son. They too are buried in this cemetery.
Yvonne Biddy-Foster is deceased. I met her several years ago at a reunion, and we conversed through email until her death. She had a lot of information about the Foster families. I would love to talk more to you about your knowledge of Mary Rebecca Black-Foster and her family.
Please send me your email address and I'll be glad to share with you the details that I have. The unfortunate thing is that I am in the process of moving and most of my paperwork has been stored away. I have my genealogy tree on my home pc and I can use it to help us.
I look forward to hearing from you again soon.
