George William Hodges was my 4th gr grandfather. I had looked for this cemetery for a while. It was very emotional finding it. And finding some of the graves in such good condition. We are going to try to get this cemetery preserved as a historical cemetery. I am glad it touched you as much as it did me.

Sherry:

I would love to have the picture and will share it with a direct descendant of Brayton Johnson. I am not sure but it seems that he and his wife "may be" buried in an unmarked grave at Mount Hickory Primitive Baptist Cemetery here in Chambers County.

Thanks,

Don C.

RE: Higgins Cemetery

Just want to make sure I understand your message correctly; was Harriet's father Henry Duke or Henry Duke Pearman?

Thanks so much!

Don't know if you are related to these people, but I notice you created Memorials for them. I have added some photos to your memorials.

And thank you for the compliments :)

I wrote the "biography" for Harriet "Eliza" Dobson Bowen after finally, succesfully separating her stories from those of her cousin and friend (my 3rd great grandmother), Harriet Mountoria Addington Bowen Moss Barnett.

Because "Montoria" was such a prolific storyteller, her progeny and stepchildren got the two confused and assimilated their lives. I grew up hearing those stories, and my mother worked for many years to get a better grasp of them. Their stories are still being written, and I hope they would be pleased to know many people still think of them often, after all the years between us.

I located some of the Wood family in Randolph County, hoping to learn more about Jimmie's progeny, but haven't ever contacted them. If you have any information about them, I'd love to read about them. My email is blacknewport65 -at- hotmail -dot- com.

Thanks again,
David

Jimmie A Bowen Wood
Thanks for surveying Wood Cemetery in Georgia. One of my cousins, Jimmie A. Bowen Wood, is buried there. In case you'd like to add her parent's names, she was the daughter of James Bowen and Harriet Elizabeth Dobson. They lived in Randolph County AL.

Thanks again for your efforts.
