I'm retired, live in Greenville, Texas. But I am from Ada, Oklahoma and frequently visit Pontotoc and Johnston Counties in Oklahoma. I'm willing to take photos there too. Have great digital camera, will travel.

Mostly researching Holley, Robinson and Izard families.

Normans
After further examination, I realize that it is only 2 people with 3 monuments each, but I added the other monuments, too.

YAY....It's always a good feeling to be able to confirm what you already believe to be correct. That is so important in doing family research. I have seen so many assume and be wrong and it makes others following post incorrectly also. Sorry I havent been able to help. I no longer live in Bushnell. I've been working 7 days a week and have not been on my computer in months. Good luck with the rest of your research Holley.
Regards
Kathleen

You are welcome.

I agree. I like to find the marriage records, too, but I just don't have time to keep looking otherwise I wouldn't get anything done. Sometimes a misspelled name can really be hard to find. Good luck!

RE: Eda Jane Reid Norman
I don't know if you have access to Ancestry.com or not, but that is where I found her maiden name. Several people have her in their family tree listed that way. I tried to find a marriage record, and could not; however, some family trees show her marriage to W.H. Norman on 25 July 1866 in Conway County, Arkansas. Perhaps you could contact someone who has her in their tree on Ancestry.com. You might also see if you can find that marriage record to prove her maiden name. Hope this helps.

Hack stones
Both stones, Elizabeth and Leander, are very old stones and although I don't see the last name in the photo of either stone I am quite certain that it is there, possibly on the base. You are right about the snow - it will be some time before I can get to the Marsland cemetery, some distance from the town on gravel/dirt road. The pictures I posted were taken some time ago. I will recheck when area is more accessable.

RE: Irene Holley
I am not related but I was researching some of my family and requested microfilm from the Kansas library for the Thayer News. I try to add any obits that I find when researching old papers. I found it very interesting, she must have been quite a tough lady. I can send you the pics I took of the microfilm.
