I am the great-great granddaughter of Theodore Polk Bowen. I am also a member of DAR, and the Missouri Daughters of the Union Veterans. Julia Dent-Grant tent #16. I spent much of my childhood in Hannibal, Mo. and have lived in southern Mo. since 1981. I hope everyone enjoys the Rush Cemetery information. For a more complete history on the Bowen genealogy you may visit the Daughters of the Union Civil War Veterans Julia Dent Grant Tent 16 website: http://juliadentgranttent16duvcw.orgClick on "Veterans" Click on "Theodore Polk Bowen" |
You may also find information on the Bowen genealogy on file in the Missouri Room, at the Hannibal Public Library.

I have no idea where Dan Archdeacon is buried. This is not my family. I just entered them from the cemetery records book.

Thank you Patti for posting the Mary Alexander burial records. I was despairing of ever finding them.
The best to you.
Happy Holidays Patti

Hi to you back. I'm hoping next year to visit New York City & Pierre's grave at Trinity Church where I can leave real flowers. Glad to meet you too. Jan

Actually, that was her name, not a misprint. Thank you for checking.
|Janet Tranum||RE: Avery|
That would be great. Thank you Patti.

I copied her Death Certificate and it does say she is buried at Rush Cemetery; however, I already have a volunteer that walked the cemetery and could not find her grave or that she is listed there. Any other suggestions, bob

I was surprised to find that a connection to some of the LaVoo family I've been working on was connected to the Bowen family. I do not know much about Eldora. Do you know anything? Her marriage to Edward LaVoo was her second one. Do you happen to know which Gibson she was married to? I'd love to get them connected if he is one of the Gibson family at Rush.
I contacted you a LONG time ago about Rush Cemetery. I have family there both Nelson and Roach families. I still have not gotten out there. I hope to this summer. I was told by another person that the graves I'm looking for are un marked and even though I want to check myself it would not surprise if they were un-marked. My Nelson family were very poor. Do you know if there exists a list or records of who is buried there? I'm looking for my Great Great Grandma's burial place. Her death certificate just says Palmyra so I'm not sure if she is at Greenwood/St. Joseph or if she is at Rush with her husband. My Great Great Grandfather's death certificate says Rush on it.
The last thing is that I was reading your bio on your page and see that you are a member of DUV! I am too as of last year at Springfield state dept. meeting. I am in Tent #23 at Macon. Do you have any plans on coming to State Dept. Meeting in June at Macon? Feel free to email me off Find a Grave. My email is on my member page.

I requested her gravestone photo and got this today. Does her death certificate list her burial or did you get the information from the Missouri death index. Thank you and have a nice weekend, bob
The general problem they reported is:
I searched the entire cemetery and could not find the grave
They also reported, specifically:
Fannie is not listed as buried in Rush.
