I am an avid genealogist and cat lover! I spend a lot of time researching my ancestors and their kin. Finding and visiting an ancestor's grave is always a thrill for me. I enjoy walking cemeteries and thinking about the lives of the people buried there.|

Diane, my husband & I are planning on going out to Smith Mountain today to take pictures of your Trammel requests. I noticed there are also Trammells buried there also, & a Margaret Trammel buried nearby. Would you be wanting to memorialize them too? I'm planning on taking photos of them all & if you do memorials, will you post requests so I can have the privilege of fulfilling the requests??? Thanks!
I absolutely adore your kitty picture! How on earth did you ever get one so young to sit still long enough for such a good shot? My kitten pictures are all pretty much a blur or at some awkward angle except for when they were asleep. Ha!
Diane, here's the locations for the Trammel graves at Smith Mountain & the URL for Tulare Co. website that has transcriptions of all their cemeteries.
Trammel, George E, 1-7A-48 7/27/1842-3/15/1919
Trammel, Hannah N, 1-7A-47 1/1/1861-3/11/1941

His great grandmother, Flavilla Purinton, is a 2nd great grand aunt. Did Walter or Charlene do any genealogy research?

Walter Eugene Stanbrough is my 3rd cousin, 1x removed. There is a Eugene H Stanbrough in Find a Grave that may or may not be related - I have not found any links to him yet. Which Eugene did you mean?

I am also into family trees. My name is Willie Gerald (Jerry) Green. I was wondering if you have any research on Viola McCollum daughter of John W. b. 1859 Tn. and Margaret Elizabeth Green McCollum b.1862 Ga. This family is part of mine and I know that there were 2 Margaret McCollum's in the same area at the same time. My Margaret is my ggggrandfathers sister. Their family had at least 7 Daughters, no boys that I can find. I can only guess at the ages. John W McCollum is the son of Enoch McMollum and Rachel Green, No Kin at this time.

Hello Diane, thank you so much for contacting me and setting me straight on Hannah Hamilton Walker Jacobs and her children from James Walker. I will correct my find a grave bio when I can, sorry it has taken me so long to reply.

I was closing my windows down and looked at Frank and Mary's marker again and noticed that I was wrong in what I told you. Frank is on the left and Mary is on the right, which puts Frank in space 9 and Mary in space 8.

I am documenting the locations of all graves at Woodlawn. I am noting the location of each grave and its location to the other graves around it. As in the photo of Mary and Fred's marker, Mary is on the left and Fred is on the right. The stone faces the East and visible from Woodlawn Drive. I suppose the marker could be engraved in reverse as to the actual placement of the deceased, but I am posting the actual way the stones are engraved, even if there are mistakes on them. When I first started this project I was just going to get everything photographed and posted to Find A Grave. But as I got deeper into the project I found that their records in some cases were incomplete or wrong or total missing. In visiting with Mike at the office he says that is the case. I have found, in some cases according to the records that someone is listed as being buried in one location, but their marker is in a totally different location.
