Today we walked where others walked On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin, In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds - Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot; Who lies beneath this hollowed ground? Was it a babe, child, young or old? No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay. We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget, But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence, A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend, For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come Will be grateful for your trust.

Tom A Yates
Thank you so much for the obituary for Tom Yates. I'm sorry it took me so long but I have updated his memorial. His granddaughter is one of my best friends so I included him when I was searching for another name in this cemetery. If he is your family, I would be more than happy to transfer to you.

Jane Messer Murray #73990096
Hi Judy, you sent a correction for me to link Jane Messer Murray to her parents as follows:

Father: 30499263 William Leonard Messer
Mother: 75806975 Joanna Cox

However, Jane was born in 1846 and William was born in 1859, making it impossible for him to be Jane's father. Same for Joanna, she was born in 1866 and could not be Jane's mother.

Harriett Dacus Stancil
I tried a couple of times to find this grave, but could not. I did find some other members of the Stancil family, but she wasn't among them. I unclaimed the request, but didn't want to mark it as a problem because someone else who knows the cemetery better might be able to find her.
I'm very sorry.
