Sorry Scott,
Scott, sorry but we don't have a Sarah Jane Ball in our family history that we are aware of. Glad you were able to find some cousins.--Virginia & Charles

Dora & Nolan Armstrong
Hello, again.
I stopped by the Smyrna graveyard this afternoon.

Dora & Nolan are buried side by side, and they share a headstone as well as individual markers.
If you'd like a picture of the grave, then let me know.

My best,

Philip's father was Irving Armstrong and his mother was Mary Wescott - I do have more info on them if you need it but please e-mail me.

Dora Miles Armstrong

My first impulse would be to say that Nolan Armstrong is Dora Miles Armstrong's spouse.
Their birthdates are not outragiously far apart to eliminate the possibility, and they're buried in the same cemetery. As Dora's maiden name was Miles, it would eliminate the possibility of them being siblings. I don't recall if Dora and Nolan were buried side by side.

Of course, it's wrong to assume that they were married without more positive proof (an inscription on either headstone indicating thus, for example, or examining church records), but the assumption might not be too far from the truth.

Robert Samuel Armstrong
Sorry we are not familiar with Robert Samuel. We are into genealogy but don't have a record of being related to him. My father was Samuel Minor Armstrong from Taylor and Preston Co. in WV.

Congressman Philip C. Hayes
Hi Scott, according the US Congress Bio Directory,
Hayes was in La Salle County Il, with his family as a child and moved to Ohio in 1860. After the Civil War, he relocated to Morris Il, and he served as a Congressman. In 1892, he moved to Joliet Il, where he was in journalism until his death. Not much mention of his family and relatives. Thanks, J-Cat
