|Rev. Kevin Airrington||Re: Underwoods|
Thank you so much for your work. I really appreciate it.
Perhaps it is under Emma or Emily. Just a thought and you probably already looked.
Mary Underwood. Several months back...my Mother n Law came for a visit. I had no idea but my wife asked her to bring her research for me to find her biological parents. She was adopted when she was about 4 and did not remember them.
She asked me if I could help, knowing my profession...and then said, "I have been looking for almost 10 years so if you can't find anything I understand...you are my last shot." She handed me her very thin folder...and she had done some pretty good work really...however, she is not a professional and there were many holes in her research.
She did not have a first name a last name, a date of birth, locations...nothing. She did obtain the right documents...about 70% of what I gather when doing adoptions.
From her research...I was able to locate her mother and her father in about 30 minutes. Mary is her mother. Her father is Ray Green and he is buried in Ohio. In a couple of hours I found a brother, an uncle and about 6 cousins.
She was very emotional. I decided to contact the oldest living cousin (her brother had also passed away). The funny thing is the cousin kept hanging up on me thinking I was a bill collector. Calling is not usually my style for that very reason anyway. However, she was in my house and it excited so I tried to accelerate the process.
I photographed my wife and my mother n law...attached a couple of documents and wrote the cousin a short letter. Three days later he called me, I could sense the excitement in his voice. he said, "Kevin, I owe you a great big apology. Of course I remember that little redhead!"
Today, my mother-in-law is getting to know the family she never knew existed. And I have a new friend.
About 50% of all the work I do is adoptions all referrals...this is very rewarding...and this close to home...very cool. My wife is related to Solomon Tice Sr., a Revolutionary War hero, former Governor of Virginia candidate...and more. Too very cool!
I will send you an email in response to your other inquiry.
Thank you so much,

Thanks so much! Walter & Edith were my grandparents. I barely remember Walter, as he died when I was very young. I remember Edith a little more. Thanks again.
