I was born Marilyn Ross Meiklejohn and have been researching my family history since 2001. My|
Meiklejohn's originally came from St Ninian's Stirling in Scotland, some of them moved to the Glasgow area and a few of them emigrated to America settling in California, mainly Los Angeles. I am currently researching this side of the family as well as the Weir, Mair, Blair, Ross, Seay, Bowers and Casey families in Scotland and Ireland.

I added his middle name and updated his place of burial. Let me know if there is anything you would like me to add or change.

Thanks for the transfers...I think!
Did you decide these weren't yours?
I posted the photo you requested from Melrose Abbey, although it does not show it as being posted or having a tombstone. However, it is there. I was able to crop it and bring it closer so as to be readable for you. I also added William Meiklejohn to the cemetery and posted the photo for him too.

I went to Melrose Abbey yesterday. I located the final resting place of Alice and William Mickeljohn. They are in a glass wall enclosure for cremated remains. Their container only lists their names and a date of marriage. I have taken a photo, but not sure how good it will show up as the location of their remains was very high on a wall (15 feet up). I am returning to the cemetery to located other grave photo requests then I will try to crop the photo to bring the detail of your ancestors closer and post within the next week or so. Sorry the photo won't be as closeup as I would have liked.

Updated her page, and also found some more info on the other Jeters at Grandview, including a couple of L.A. Times obits.
If you'd like the 3 Jeter pages transferred, please send SACs on each and we'll be glad to do so. If you'd like a copy of the obits, let me know where to send them.
