I love spending time with my family and doing genealogy. (Tetreault, Deneault, Racette, Schmidt, Richard, Giroux, Dyson, Miller, Blochlinger) just to name a few)

A Cemetery is a history of people, a perpetual record of yesterday and a sanctuary of peace today.
A Cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering always.

By Thelma Greene Reagan

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

The Ancestor
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marble stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder how you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

RE: Lenora Marie Murray Mc Intire Renfro
The original is not mine, but I did ask Findagrave for a merge so none of your bio or info or flowers are lost. Yes, I get in a hurry, I was just curious about why you didn't delete your duplicate when you obviously knew about it.

Might I ask a strange question? You duplicated this memorial, but you knew about the original as you placed flowers on both the original and the duplicate?

Cecelia L'Ecuyer
Just wanted to let you know I've added the obit for Cecelia to St. Mary's Cemetery in Clifton, Washington County, Kansas. I'm working through an envelope of clipped obits from NE Kansas. No citations ---- of course. But, something is better than nothing.

Maureen, I just wanted to let you know I've added the obit to Thomas Francis Downey's page in the Catholic cemetery in Glasco, and have linked him to his parents.

RE: Leo Bahner
I guess in this case the timing is perfect. We sometimes need a reminder of what veterans and their families have lost to keep us free. I hope you have a good Veterans Day.

Glenn Crewdson - Evergreen Cemetery, Oakland, CA

Thank you for your email regarding his obituary. I added it just now. So sad that he was only 9 years old. =(

Correction Gerald/Erma Reusch Dove
As the daughter of Gerald and Erma Reusch Dove, I would like to provide an update to your site information. Gerald and Erma Reusch Dove only had one deceased child in 1959 and that was Michael Eugene Dove. Thanks for your information on his site. It is always nice to be able to find out information about your genealogy that others share.
