I love spending time with my family and doing genealogy. (Tetreault, Deneault, Racette, Schmidt, Richard, Giroux, Dyson, Miller, Blochlinger) just to name a few)

A Cemetery is a history of people, a perpetual record of yesterday and a sanctuary of peace today.
A Cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering always.

THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
By Thelma Greene Reagan

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Florence Gladis Lowman
Hello - Just wanted to tell you thank you for making the memorial for my great aunt, Florence - I didn't know where she was buried. I was determined to unite the Lewis family siblings, and found the other memorials for Roy, Ray, and Erwin ( thanks for those memorials, also, and for making the edits ) but none had been made for Florence. I thought she must be in Concordia, because she was living with my dad's cousin, Dorothy Lowman Swenson, when she passed away.

It was a nice surprise to see her linked today! I am happy!

Charlotte Esther Klein
I have added a photo of Charlotte Esther Klein, however, the dates on her stone, memorial and a prior reading do not match.

She is not listed at all on the directory at the cemetery. A reading done in 2006 gives her dates as 6 Oct 1895 - 15 Nov 1918. Her stone says 18 July 1903 - 20 Oct 1936, and the Find A Grave memorial gives death date as 15 Nov 1918. Confusing!

I can try and find an obituary if that would help.

Harold Duby
Aloha,
Just wanted to let you know that I checked on Haroldʻs gravestone today... so far it is still the same as I posted on 5 March... his dates have not been added under his wifeʻs name and the temporary marker is still there. Will check again in about a month... will post a photo when the new stone or info is added.
