Bio and Links
Bio Photo My wife Sue and I made a trip to Illinois and Missouri in 2008 and we were able to photograph a bunch of family and related headstones. Sue does the genealogy and she wanted to make sure our information was available to as many people as possible and when she found Find a Grave she was excited. We're always happy to make corrections if you find we are in error and we're sorry if we duplicate. We just want the best information out there. Oh, by the way, my third great grandfather, Asa Woods, and three of his brothers, founded the town of Avon in Fulton County, Illinois, and we were able to post a bunch of photos of my ancestors to Find a Grave from the Avon Cemetery from this trip. What a joy it was to find these ancestors.

Ira M. Woods
Dear Mr. Holmes,

My e-mail to you rejected back so the picture I speak of as attached obviously is not attached here.

I found your post of Ira Woods grave-site on find-a-grave.com. This very morning I sent a Facebook message to a gal named Renee Jensen who posted a picture of her "great-grandpa" Ira Woods at 90 years young. That picture is attached here. The reason I contacted Renee was to ask if I could use her picture in a story I'd like to write for 1) my civil war web-site and 2) to send (article) to the brand new Missouri Civil War Museum in St. Louis.

So, I'd like to ask the same of you....may I use your picture and may I write said article. I have a lot of research to do so it'll be a month or two, but I have quite a "family" reason to do this. It appears that Ira was among the engineers that repaired the Nashville rail line, and built the blockhouses along it, that my wife's great-grandfather helped protect in late 1864.....and then Ira went east with Sherman, as did my great-grandfather, and both worked together to repair the rail lines in South & North Carolina !!

Thank you for your consideration & email me if interested in Renee's picture of Ira (at 90 years young).
