THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY|
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

|Forks Native||Amanda " Mandna" Chesebrough - Reynolds|
Hello, and Thank You very much for posting to FInd A Grave our 2nd Great Grandmother Amanda "Mandana" as she was fondly known locally, and to her immediate family.
I have posted all our personal family information pertaining to Mandana on her site. We were wondering if you would kindly consider transferring her Find A Grave site, as well as her husband, Henry's to us as their 2nd Great Grandson, Geoff and wife, Sharron who live close by the area.
Addie Shields, former Clinton Co. Historian for decades, and very close friend of ours use to visit our family's graves at the Shelter Cemetery because she also had family laid to rest there. The Shelter's were her ancestors.
Thank you for all the kind work you do so that others may find their ancestors. Your work is sincerely appreciated. Thank you for your kind consideration.
Respectfully, Geoff and Sharron Hewston

I am looking for my 5th gr grandparent's burial as they died in Louisville 1840 Oliver B. Barrett and 1845 Mary Burham Barrett. The other cemetery listed on Find A Grave has no option to type in surnames. Do you know of someone I can get in touch with to find where they are buried? Thank you, Ruth in IL

I am writing an article about them for the St. Lawrence County Historical Association's Quarterly and I was wondering if I could use your photo of their grave. I will give you credit.

It seems you have done almost the entirety of the Calvary Cemetery in Massena, that is incredible, and will be such a valuable resource for so many family historians and genealogists! In the same family, you have also created some wonderful memorials for my Great Aunt Yvonne Boucher Chapman, her husband Wilfred, son Bernard and daughter Clairette Chapman Morrissette who married Leo Morrissette, as well as my Great Aunt Rose Dubreuil Dobson and her husband Frank. Would you be willing to transfer those as well? Thank you so much again!

Thank you so much for the quick transfers!

My goodness, you also have beautiful memorials and pictures up for my Aunt Rolande Desjardins Sweeney and her baby daughter, Sharon Anne in the same cemetery. Thank you so much! Is there any way you would be willing to transfer them as well?
|Mike Draper||The Leaches of Massena|
I wanted to say thank you so much for the memorials you have placed up for my Uncle Frederick Leach and Aunt Lucille Desjardins Leach, buried in the Calvary Cemetery in Massena! The pictures are phenomenal and greatly appreciated! Is there any chance you would be willing to transfer management of them over to myself? There is actually a double connection in my family, with Frederick's sister being my grandma and Lucille's brother my gramps that I would like to establish as well as a few tidbits to add. Thank you so much again for the amazing work you have done!
