Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Kane Smith, 41 years of age. I was born, raised, and live in the Sylacauga, AL area. I attended now-defunct Bibb Graves High School in Millerville, Clay Co, Alabama. I am blissfully married to my wife of 17 years, Jennifer, and have two boys, Andy, 20, and Wade, 18.

I have worked on my family tree sporadically for about ten years. Over the past year, I have dropped most of my other hobbies and devoted more time to genealogy. I've been doing cemetery research and clean-ups for about 3 years, which is not only a great genealogical tool, but is also very rewarding to my heart.

I will gladly make corrections and transfers upon request, but please post those requests as a public message. I hardly ever check e-mail, and many e-mails get lost in the shuffle.

I never realized I needed to, but just to clear the air, anyone who desires to use the photographs or information that I post please feel free to do so. You don't need to ask for permission. I submitted the information for that purpose.

Dupes
Hello Kane. I just created a virtual cemetery and linked eight memorials in it, and four were created by you. The memorials are for four individuals, and four are dupes of those individuals. Two of the dupes are in the same cemetery as the original memorial, and they were created by you, so you should delete them. For the other two individuals, a dupe was created in a cemetery other than the original memorial. If these were not "plops" created by you, you should contact the manager(s) of the other memorials and determine which memorial should be deleted. I suggest that you review your other memorials and confirm that they are the original.

The URL of the virtual cemetery is:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=vcsr&GSvcid=684655

Thanks for your cooperation.

Brashers & Lindseys
I took a glance at your virtual cemetery and see that we share ancestors; namely David Lindsey, but also Brashers.

David Lindsey is my paternal 5G grandfather. I descend from his daughter, Mary Ann Lindsey who married Patrick Smith (then David L (Lindsey?), to David Lonnie Sr., then David Lonnie Jr., then Winston David, my grandfather).

Your Esom Terrence Brasher is the son of Moses Brasher, and I believe, but cannot prove, that Moses is the son of Samuel Brasher (1774-1822 Greenville Co, SC) and Mary Long. I descend about 5-6x through 3 of their children; once maternally through Sarah Brasher Gilliland and then about 4-5x through two of her brothers, Thomas R. Brasher (through both of his wives) and Isaac Long Brasher.

Have you considered DNA testing for genealogy purposes?
I have done so and I have a lot of Brasher cousins, certainly because I have a lot of Brasher DNA through the several connections, and some of them descend from Moses and Esom.

I also DNA tested my Smith father as well as y-DNA tested him for clues on our Smiths.
