My name is Karen Kirk, direct descendant of John L Kirk, b 1790 Orange Co, North Carolina and Cobb County, Georgia, Burnt Hickory/New Salem Road. I live in the Marietta / Hiram, GA area and have most of my life when my father wasn't transferred to another state or country. My father's relatives are mostly from Roswell and Marietta, GA. I have been doing genealogy since 2002 and love going to cemeteries to find where my roots came from. My line consist of Kirk, Mize, Coggins, Littlefield and Hicks.
If anyone is related to any memorials I have added, I would be happy to turn them over to you. | |

 | RE: Sara Kirk Howren The pleasure was all mine. It is such a lovely cemetery and a well maintained one at that. The family was all together and this made it so easy to photograph. Enjoy the photoes. Judy Cartwright Chamness | | | Stan Bevers
 | Susannah Rakestraw Karen:
Well, I guess that makes us in-laws. If your daughter-in-law has an interest in her Rakestraw heritage, I may be able to offer some insight. I plan to meet another Rakestraw cousin next Monday (April 22) in Douglasville, so that's why I'll be able to swing by Poplar Springs Cemetery that afternoon. I live on the other side of town.
If you'd like to join me at Poplar Springs next week, I'd love to meet some new cousins. Feel free to e-mail me privately at the address below.

 | Susan Rakestraw Karen:
You may very well be correct regarding the death date for Susannah Rakestraw. I may have read it incorrectly. I plan on visting Poplar Springs Cemetery Monday afternoon (April 22), so I'll take a closer look.
Out of curiosity, how are you connected to the Rakestraws? Susannah is my GGG Grandmother.
Thnaks.
Stan
