Bio and Links
Bio Photo I will transfer any memorial to those who ask as long as they are not my direct line. Any photo I have added is free to anyone who wishes to use them. I do not need or require any notice or permission. I take photos when the weather and job responsibilities permit. I research my family names only for personal use. Pappe; Vaughn; Moody; Edwards; Hollis; Renfro (various spellings) and the family names who have married into my direct lines. I do it for pleasure only.

Lucinda Moody Metcalf
Lucinda was sister to my great grandmother, Sarah Moody Metcalf. I was told that Lucinda's husband James H. Metcalf, brother to my great grandpa EB Metcalf, was shot and killed by horse thieves. Have been unable to prove this. I have never been to Terrell Texas but would love to go there. I too do genealogy for my own pleasure. My great grandparents, EB and Sarah moved from Terrell Texas in 1876 to Benton County Arkansas.

Greetings Ms. Pettit,

I am new to this site, found it in search for my grandparent's grave site and haven't used it for more. I thank you so much for taking the photo of my grandparents' stones (Troy Belvie and Helen May Renfro). I am in south Florida but it was your photo that alerted my family to the fact that my grandmother's stone had the incorrect year of death. They had engraved the year 1945 which was when my grandfather died. My grandmother lived until 1989. By telephone I was able to alert the cemetery. It took a few weeks but they say the stone has been replaced with the correct date.

thank you again.
Love and hugs, Cathy

RE: LaRue
I don't know nor remember if I have taken care of this. I have rechecked my records and can't find any of the names you sent me. My LaRue line came from Arkansas to around McAlester, Oklahoma

RE: LaRue
My great Aunt Lucy Vaughn LaRue married Thomas Lonzo LaRue (his second wife) and they had 5 children, Thomas had 3 or 4 children with his first wife (Annie Moore). I have been unable to trace any records past the 1930 census and it showed them living in Lamar Co TX but from obits of their children I found out that Thomas Lonzo was living in Hugo Oklahoma. No mention of Lucy. So she probably died sometime after 1930 but with no more records available and no obits for her it is hard to figure out when. People had a tendency to simply forget the person once they died. If they are somewhere in your tree I would love to hear from you. My email address is Be sure to put something in the subject line so I don't automatically delete the msg. Thanks Maranita

Moody stone
I personally have not seen this stone. The photo was shared by a friend of mine. Perhaps the next time I am near that cemetery, I will photograph the backside of the stone.
