You're very welcome. I just noticed on Alice Merritt's memorial page that her maiden name was Gardner and her parents are also buried in that cemetery. Perhaps the records for the plot location are listed under the name Gardner rather than Merritt, so I will check back with the town hall. Dear Orin,
This very old graveyard has lots of old stones, but also lots of open space where there are probably graves but with no stones or markers. In the past I have tried to find some of the graves requested with no luck. I have also called the cemetery office and asked about certain graves and not had any luck. Right now there are 38 requests for photos for this graveyard, and when I called the town's DPW to see if there was a database that I could access and troll through I got the impression that a list of 38 names would not be appreciated.
So, I you call the Watertown DPW and ascertain that indeed this person in buried there and HAS a gravestone, then let me know, I will gladly go searching for it and take a photo for you with pleasure.
