Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am retired from Federal Civil Service, where I worked for the Department of Defense for over twenty-seven years. Genealogy has been my number one hobby for thirty-four years and our daughters never missed an opportunity to comment that their mother was the only person they knew who took a vacation and came home with nothing but pictures of tombstones.

Lineage societies keep me busy as I am a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, United States Daughters of 1812 and Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War. In Colonial Dames of the 17th Century I prove my descent from the royal lines of Europe through my ancestor John Throckmorton. I have a total of forty coats of arms approved, including eight barons who forced King John to sign the Magna Charta. In 2009 my membership into the National Society Magna Charta Dames and The Plantagenet Society was approved. In 2010 I have added The National Huguenot Society,First Families of New Hampshire and Descendants of Colonial Clergymen, to my approved lineage societies. Approved in August 2011 was my application as a Decendant of the Most Noble Order of Knights of the Garter. In August 2013 my membership was approved for Order of Washington, The Sovereign Colonial Society Americans of Royal Descent and Colonial Order of the Crown. I'm currently working on my application to a new lineage society: National Society of Descendants of Lady Godiva.

My genealogical research includes all collateral lines. Some of my direct lines include BARKER,BEVER,BLAIR, CHANDLER,COMPTON,DUFFORD, DOUGLASS,DUNN, DRAKE, HATT,HOLLINGSWORTH, ISAACKS, KINDER, LIFE, MARKER, MCELVAIN, MCKINSEY, MCMAHAN, NINE, SARBER,SCOTT, STEVENS, SIMMONS, SMITH, STOUT, and my husband's lineage including SHAWN, SHOUN, SHOWN, LOCKABY, HEAD, MOORE, BAKER, SLEMP, GREATHOUSE, AND JOHNSON.

This site is wonderful for bringing people together and giving us an opportunity to share our tombstone pictures and pictures of the cemeteries. IF YOU USE MY PICTURES AND/OR MY GENEALOGICAL INFORMATION PLEASE GIVE ME CREDIT FOR MY WORK; OTHERWISE YOU DO NOT HAVE MY PERMISSION TO POST IT TO ANY OTHER SITE.

THELMA MAE SIMMONS
If you will look on your bio page and click on the word "edits" --up at the top-- you will see that I have responded to you little problem. It may, of course, come as an email. I am happy with this new system. However, we do learn everyday, I think. I had written, quite awhile back, a memorial for baby Velma Mae Simmons. And, the other day I added her family connection. In other words I added her PARENTS to the appropriate place. NOBODY can add siblings! Not you. Not me. This is done by findagrave!!! However, to get the siblings all as full siblings, you have to do your part which is really so simplistic. Simply go to EACH SIBLING for whom you have made a memorial. THEN---Add each child's PARENTS IN THE CORRECT PLACE! If you still do not understand, then, please know that I will be very happy to explain it again in simpler terms if you think I can be of help. Good luck in your endeavors on findagrave~

RE: JESSIE LUCILLE CLARK HEATON
Darlene,

Thank you for the info on Aunt Jessie. As you had said her sister lives in West Palm Beach, Aunt Mary Ellen is still with us. She has Alheimer, sometimes she has her good days.

I am glad you provided the info on Jessie, I knew she passed away but never knew where she lived as I had not seen her since I was a little girl. My grandmother Ethyl Starrett was one of their sisters.

Sincerely,
Deb Starrett

Jerry Nine
RE: Sylvester Nein
He was also my 5th grandfather. Sylvesters Wife was Elizabeth Griesemer. Her Father John W Griesemer and three brothers were also in the Revolutionary War. Must have been a strong freedom/ liberty family along with their strong religious beliefs.

Do you have any idea were Sylvester and Elizabeth are buried? I am presently researching but would assume they are buried somewhere on there homestead.

Jefferson Simmons-DUPLICATE
I noticed that you have added a DUPLICATE of one of my memorials. Jefferson Simmons was added by you a few months ago. However, he has been on findagrave since I added him on June 4, 2008--going on four years ago. I am requesting that you remove your duplicate of my mother's grandfather. There is NO evidence at all that he is even in Como Cemetery. So, for the sake of not passing on incorrect information to my family members and future generations, I did not have him located there in my memorial. However, you can find him under Memorial #27323247.

Thank you
