I moved from the Colorado mountains to eastern Kansas a few years back when my daughter decided on KU for her engineering studies. In searching for new place to call home, I came across a church from the 1880's that sits on the Santa Fe Trail. Converting this church into a home has been an interesting path and along the way, I've learned some of the history of the area.
I was fortunate to be close to my grandparents and have the chance to spend time with them before they passed away. My Grandmother passed on Christmas Day of 2005 and my Grandfather joined her a year later.
My interest in FindAGrave began as I researched family on my grandparents side - and was able to find my great grandparents and even family members 5 generations back from all over the nation! I realized what a powerful tool this website can be!
In joining the FindAGrave team of volunteers, I am learning more of the local history through the names I've documented from local cemeteries. I've been working to update the town's master cemetery list to include additional details from the headstones (such as birthdates, marriage dates, list of children). I hope my work helps others as we search for and document our history. | |

 | Hello Are you making any edits to your memorials? | | | Jan Bos from Nijmegen, Holland
 | Frank D. Boyd Frank D. Boyd was a Captain with Headquarters Battery 376th Parachute Field Artillery Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division. He fought many battles in Europe (Sicily, Italy, Holland, Belgian Ardennes and Germany - 1943-1945). He jumped onto dropzone N on 17 September 1944 at Groesbeek, Holland in the so-called operation Market Garden. Captain Frank D. Boyd was one of the liberators of my home town Nijmegen. I have met Frank Boyd several times, either during one of the 376th reunions or overhere in Holland, when he and his wife Marjorie were visiting Holland. Frank Boyd encouraged me to write the history of his wartime unit. The book "Circle and the Fields of Little America" came out in 1992, it is sold out, now available on DVD. The boo covers the 376th history from acivation in 1942 until the end of the war in May 1945. Thank you Frank Boyd, you will not be forgotten. | | | Lloyd Williams
