|James Richards||Kisiah Patterson #2|
Whoops! And then I re-read a marriage register to George where it said, "second marriage for both". Further research and YOUR WERE RIGHT, Goodin is the correct maiden name. One marriage document showed "Miss" but that was obviously something that was written to trick us 150 some odd years later. :)
|James Richards||Kisiah Patterson|
Sorry I have not responded before; I was out of the area. Tonight, I checked the Hardin County Clerk records web site and found the document images for George W. Patterson's marriages to both Mary Munford (1849) and Kisiah Munford (1856). For Kisiah, she is listed on one marriage document as Miss Kisiah Munford, so I cannot go with Goodin. I don't know where Smith came from; possibly an earlier suggestion that I accepted from someone. Kisiah may have been quite pregnant, "Kentucky Births and Christenings, 1839-1960," shows daughter Sarah being born on February 5, 1856, just three weeks after their marriage. I posted the information on George's Find A Grave memorial.

Absolutely positive that Maude's maiden name was Chambers. My 80+ year old mother knew Aunt Maude quite well plus we have her death certificate.
