Hello Dylan,
I'm Susan Shepherd, my grandma Mary was the daughter of William & Clara. I remember her stories of them and Georgia. I also remember her talking about the Shomidies. I actually have this family photo of William, Clara, and their 6 kids. Grandma Mary was about 40 in this photo. I also visited Springfield with my Dad, Jack (Mary's son) in 1991 and visited the Brandenburg gravesite and have photos. I have old photos of grandma Mary that I should add here. National cemetery records lists him as John Robert Goldsberry, Sr. He is buried in Section I Site 1688. It also shows a son, Anthony Joseph Goldsberry B: 11/12/1970 D: 11/14/1970 buried in the same location. Hi Dylan - I added a memorial for Frank William Shomidie. He is buried in Roselawn. I saw his grave today and figured he is one of your family. There were no other Shomidies near his stone.
