Hi Stevi. I am not a relative of this family, just enjoy doing genealogical research. Yes, you are correct -- John's first two wives were sisters, and Mary was his third wife.

I understand the meaning of this site and memorials, which is a major factor I take the pictures for others. I also participate in cemetery clean up of neglected cemeteries and this past month I am helping others uncover veterans plaques and making sure they get American Flags for their graves.

There are many stones which cannot be read in that cemetery. Weather erosion and time have made some of them entirely smooth.

My pleasure, the dates are different than what is posted on her memorial, I am sure it is the correct grave because it says she was married to john Frederick App.

Wednesday, August 24, 1910 Paper: Daily Register Gazette (Rockford, IL) Page: 2- Fatal Auto Accident- Roy Brink Killed And Two Others Seriously Injured Near Dixon - Went Off A Bridge- Sterling, Illinois Aug 24-Roy Brink is dead and Patrick McFalls and Oliver Miller are seriously injured as the result of an auto running off a bridge east of Dixon.
Thursday, August 25, 1910 Paper: Rockford Republic Rockford, IL) Page: 7--DIXON -- Pat McCall, night man at the Miller Garage, while driving a car belong to one of the patrons of the garage, early yesterday morning,struck a culvert on the Franklin road and lost control of the car which turned turtle and caused the death of one man and injured the other two occupants. Roy Brink, the dead victim, was pinned under the car and received fractures in both legs between the ankle and knee, internal injuries and a slight fracture at the base of the brain. He never regained consciousness. Miller, another member of the party, received two gashes on the head and a few minor bruises. McCall, the driver, was thrown from the car and received no injuries to any extent.
Friday, August 26, 1910 Paper: Rockford Republic (Rockford, IL) Page: 11-- DIXON--Wednesday evening a coroner's inquest was held over the remains of Roy Brink, who met his death in the automobile east of the city early Wednesday morning. The night man at the garage, Pat McFall, is blamed for the tragedy. It is said by Miller that McFall headed out of the city against the wishes of his guests and increased the speed as he went until the accident.
Thursday, September 1, 1910 Paper: Rockford Republic (Rockford, IL) Page: 6 - DIXON - The case of Patrick McFall, charged with malicious mischief in the taking of the automobile belonging to John Parsons from the Miller garage early last Wednesday morning without the consent of the owner and taking Roy Brink and O. C. Miller for a ride with him and east of this city the machine was wrecked and Brink met death from injuries sustained, was called in Justice Hanneken's court yesterday morning. A change of venue was taken to Magistrate W. G. Kent's court.
