|My paternal grandfather's ancestors were of the first pioneers to move to Johnson Co, IN, 200 years ago, and several of my relatives still live there. My maternal grandfather was an immigrant from Switzerland settling in Louisville, KY. And I'm married to a Haggerty who's family is obviously from Ireland a few generations back.|

Have you researched any original documentation or are your sources all second or third hand?

|Gen D||RE: Gottlieb Beck|
My husband was a direct descendant of George Frederick Beck, whose birthplace in Germany is unknown. I have been reading the court cases that involve Gottlieb and the estate of G.F. Beck. Will say more about them when I finish (long and hard to read). Do you have documentation about Gottlieb or is your knowledge based on family tradition? Where did Gottlieb have his bakery, Indianapolis or in Johnson County?

Do you know if Gottlieb had a brother/relative by the name of George Frederick Beck who died 2 May 1836? Gottlieb is mentioned in probate and other court records that dealt with the estate of G. F. Beck. Although he's mentioned there is nothing stated about the relationship.
Have you found Gottlieb's birth in Stuttgart? That's not far from the birthplace of George's wife.

Sorry for the delayed response; Find A Grave doesn't notify you when you have a new public message, and I don't check them often.
My death date for Morton Howell is based on my personal notes from visiting the cemetery (i.e. I saw that number with my own eyeballs). It also agrees with an on-line cemetery transcription.
If you have evidence of Morton and Addie living together at a later date; I'm guessing that it was a different Morton Howell from a different family. The Franklin county IN Howells had a really bad habit of giving cousins the same name when they were born in the same year, making it really difficult to sort out later.
I will remove the marriage to Addie Sandefur; I was a little uncomfortable with the Shelby County marriage location anyway.
Please let me know if there is other information about the family of origin for the "other" Morton Howell
|Roberta DeBoor||RE: Aquilla Scott & Matilda Scott|
No problem with Aquilla and Matilda Scott. Aquilla Scott is my husbands GG Grandfather brother. I checked the site before I added Anna and Elliott Barnes. If they were added what names are they under, because they did not show up when I did a New Search. I hope to add Aquilla parents and when I do, I will send you the link to them. so you add link to Aquilla if that is ok.

Requesting memorial transfer for the above couple.
This couple is my husband's GG Aunt and Uncle and I hope to link him to his parents and children.
"Are you related to any of the Haggerty, McKinster, Colvin families of Vermilion county? I noticed you posted many of the names that I'm researching."
No, I am not related to any of those lines, I just was trying to photo most of the stones there.
Gottlieb was my Grandfather's Grandfather. So my GGGGrandfather?
We have a family historian if you are interested I can get her information for you and y'all can talk.
Please email me and we can do this privately.
