Received my DNA Testing Results from 23 and Me Member of Ancestry.com
Our Pruitt/Prewitt family reunion 2014 in Tuscaloosa Alabama. We had a great time getting to know our family and branches from Tuscaloosa Alabama, Chicago, Dallas Texas, Tulsa Oklahoma, Oklahoma City and California. We had the opportunity to exchange family history, photos and visit the Old Prewitt Slave Cemetery where many of my ancestors are buried. It was an amazing, awe-inspiring experience to stand in the one place on earth which contains their mortal remains and to see important pieces of their life perhaps carved into stone. We are a family running 8+ generations strong and reunions are the anchor to our past, present and future.

|Paul Parker||Sgt Kelly Johnson|
I served with Sgt Johnson Kelly and I noticed that you posted something on the site here in regards to him.
I will never forget the day he died...I was supposed to be with him and the rest of them when the accident happened. We were both in 324FSB, he lived in the room right next to mine and he was my squad leader.
I don't exactly know why I'm sending this email. I've had Kelly on my mind for many years now.
|Kimberly Mills||J H Barber|
J H Barber is my great grandfather. I visited the cemetery around 2006. My family still own some of the land there. I was told that we were related to the Prewitte's. My grandfather was Harvey Mills and my grandmother was Ada Barber Mills-she is buried at the Holly springs cemetery. I'm sure might be related. My dad Willie Mills and I did the DNA test with 23andme as well. Hope to chat with you soon.

Question for J.D. Prewitt
My grandmother's name is Malissa Pruitt (From Northport, AL). I can't locate any info on her parents and the earliest info I can find is the 1920 Census and she's living with her best friend's family (Sanders). You are very knowledgeable about the Prewitt/Pruitt family and was wondering if you could email me so I can give you more info, if you don't mind.
Her Grave info

J. D. Prewitt,
Please add my father Ila G. Prewitt to the list of children of General D. Prewitt and Cornella Prewitt. Information taken from Tuscaloosa, Alabama Thirteenth Census of the United States 1910- Population, 26 April 1910.
Just wanted to say " Hi cousin " We are related somehow. My great grandmother is a Pruitt and as I research my family history I see that you are Manager of some of my ancestors memorials. Have a great day!
|Debra Wheatley||Baby Girl Steins|
I am Debra Freeman Wheatley and in my Freeman Family Cemetery in Echola, Alabama it lists a child Baby Girl Steins b. May 13, 1941, d. May 13, 1941. When I clicked her link it shows Prewitt Stines and Dora Norris Stines as her parents. Siblings, James C. Stines, Nadine Stines Walker and Velma Stines Belk.
There are several unmarked graves in the Freeman Cemetery in Echola and I am curious if you could pinpoint where this child is buried? We have put up markers for a few of my relatives, but are unsure of other graves inside the fence area and some outside. There are at least four graves inside the fence that might be children and we are trying to find out who these are.
Any help would be appreciated.

JD, posted two photos for both of your family members. The area photo is basically of the general area with the section sign. Hope that fits your request. If not, let me know and I will make it back out and get closer; it might be hard since the marker is so flat.

J.D. I added an updated photo to Beulah Taylor Fields #60344658 and the other Taylor's. It is an expanded plot view with names to show where each is buried.
