I think I developed an interest in cemeteries, especially the old ones, when I was a little girl and I used to go with my dad when he mowed the county cemeteries. That was way before weed eaters, and I would trim around the headstones with a pair of scissors. I loved the historical old inscriptions and carvings of doves, lambs, & fingers pointing the way to heaven. It wasn't until I was an adult that I appreciated the genealogical aspect of it. Now I try to help others with their genealogy as well as myself. I have the utmost respect for our dearly departed, and try and take the best possible photo I can. I know how important it is to locate a loved one, and I am glad to help. :)
Names in my family tree I'm researching: Yandl, Grabner, Williams, Shaffer, Burkett or Burket, Faehnle, Mitschelen. Everyone deserves to be remembered. | |

 | RE: Charles Kovatch Thanks for your response. I had moved from Elkhart to Belleville IL in 1975 and had no knowledge of this tragic accident that claimed the lives of Chuck Kovatch and his daughter. He was in my homeroom at Elkhart High School during my sophomore year. I can't remember if he was in my homeroom for my junior year or not and he did not have a senior picture in the high school annual in 1968. I do remember that he had a sense of humor. | | | William Bjornstad
 | Charles Kovatch Hello,
I noticed that you have a Find A Grave memorial listed for Charles Kovatch and his wife. I was up visiting Elkhart IN last weekend and went to St. Vincent Cemetery to try and locate the graves of some friends. I noticed a gravestone for Charles Kovatch and remembered him from my sophomore year at Elkhart High School (1965-66). From looking at his picture that you posted, he is the same person that I knew. I don't think that he graduated with me in 1968.
I was curious as to what happened to him and his wife, as they both died on the same day. Do you have any knowledge of this?
Thanks,

 | RE: Keely Thank you for the wonderful pictures. May I copy these photos for my tree? The other people are all family members connected to Peter Keely. I'll try to connect everyone and then I'd love for you to add the pictures.
Peter Keely had several children. Some were buried in Cass Co,MI just over the state line. I'll add the people you listed and then you can add the pictures. Thank you again.Added by De Maegd on Jun 21, 2012 9:05 AM | | | David McInturff
 | Jacob McEnderffer Thank you so much for the photo. I appreciate your effort. I was able to correct the birth year and name spelling. Do you happen to have a larger photo? I'm trying to make out all of the inscription, and I can't. Thanks. | | | E F
 | RE: Aida Strohl Headstone Dear C.M. Mitschelen, I am guessing that it looks like an "A" which would match Aida's middle initial. So I think that as far as it is readable you got the right stone. Thanks for all your time in taking all the photos I have requested! E.F.Added by E F on May 17, 2012 10:15 PM | | | | [View all messages...] |
