For the past 20 years I have been on the genealogy staff at the Mesa Arizona FamilySearch Library. We are a regional library of www.familysearch.org. Some of my specialties are internet genealogy research and U.S. military records. I also lecture and teach classes in the Phoenix area communities. I have 35 years of generalogy research experience.

I consider all transfers. I also reserve the choice to follow the 4 generations Find A Grave suggested transfer rules. Please list your profile name and number when requesting a transfer. Thank you.

Please use the memorial EDIT option to make all corrections, additions and transfer requests. Please list the name and memorial number when sending public messages. It is difficult to locate an individual without the memorial number.

"A Birth Certificate, media or family history, will tell that a person was BORN ... A Death Certificate, a memorial, or family history, will tell that he or she have DIED ... but a picture, a story, an obituary or memorialization via FindAGrave, will tell you what is most important, which is, that they have LIVED"

Davis Family
I see your name on several Davis memorials here. My DNA came up as a match to Van B. Davis and Eliza Cranshaw. I believe they are an uncle and aunt to me, but I am unsure. My gr grandmother was Delphia Jones of Murphysboro, Illinois. Her parents were Jesse F. Jones & Susan Akins. Susan Akins parents are James H. Akins and Amelia Davis.
I found a record last night that says Amelia was: Davis, Amelia d/o Elphas. This little note was attached to Amelia's marriage record to James H. Akins. They married August 1, 1859. I have her birthday set at about 1840. There are an awful lot of Elphanz (or other spellings) Davis's out there, and I'm getting way confused by all the in's and outs. I was wondering if you might recognize who I am talking about maybe give me some hints about the Davis Family. Thank you so much, Peggy

Glad you liked the photo. My service (Dec 12, 1952 - Nov 22, 1955) was a walk in the park compared to most: Army Language School, Monterey, CA (Hungarian) and a stint in Germany and Austria. But your thank you very much appreciated. Dick

Hi Nance,
Ok, I looked him up and the gravestone marker is suppose to be IMO, not actually buried yet.
He isn't buried at the Honolulu Memorial either. It's just a stone of all the missing in action that have never been recovered.

Created the memorial as (IMO) at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Accepted your Edits and will update his bio.

Thank you,
